I agree. I think its gotten so bad so quickly that the government OR EU should outright ban online gambling advertisement. Especially around football FFS you can't watch any sky tv without an adverts popping up. I really think its now as dangerous as the smoking adverts which were banned (by EU ) drink companies are also frown on now too... yet online gambling is recognised as the third legal addiction but has a free for all.
You're right mate. I would like to think though, that football would actually take the lead by having more integrity in what is displayed on their kits and on the hoardings at grounds. Football is a part of society after all and has a lot of influence especially when the very people who are paying to go to the games probably also form a decent sized part of the betting community.
Or people could stop blaming others for their own actions and take responsibility themselves... #reality
Some of us can remember the old bookies with the blacked out windows. Now they look like cafe's, some offer free coffee if you place a bet. The worst things are the slot machines were you can lose a lot of money very quickly. Blair was the one who allowed the betting companies to expand massively, although with the internet it would have been possible to bet anywhere on anything . There are a lot of female gamblers who lose a lot playing online bingo, again as Tobes says they can do it from home. Previously they would have got dolled up for a night at the bingo maybe once a week, now it can be 24hrs a day still in their dressing gown and slippers.
Ooof.....never good when a building hallway looks like yer on a train.... 42 dead reported so far .... this is 2 in the region in what 2 weeks? https://twitter.com/i/moments/910211748673835013
Hadn't considered the lottery actually, never seems like real gambling since you're buying a 1 quid ticket or whatever but maybe there are some people who are addicted to that, just doesn't seem the same as 'proper gambling' machines, fruities, horses, dogs, sports, casinos whatever I have bought a lottery ticket in that past, never bought a scratch card though, can see how those get to be addictive due to the instantaneity / compulsive factor, same as the gambling forms i listed above, on the normal lottery it's not such a quick fix or rush
Poker Machines in pubs....before it was on the phone lol. I used to watch on a Friday guys that had done a hard ****ty job all week for crap pay literally put it in the machine. They'd only have one drink so they could keep it for the machine. The odd time they got the poker repeat up they would talk about the win as if nobody knew they literally just got their money back. What was worse is they'd get angry once you went along after they'd ran out of money, put in a fiver betting on 3's and walk away with their 200 quid. They never saw the pattern. It was your fault. I kept doing it in the hope they'd eventually get it........always bought the bar a round when won.... had to keep the karma good like...
Holy ****! Amazing skills innit I've walked/scrambled some of the Cuillin and Skye, beautiful place fo sho
I've been to the lower places in that vid, but I've no head for heights so the foot-wide paths across a ridge at 3000feet are definitely out . Got close to that platform they used in a fight scene in Highlander, can't remember its name now. Fantastic place. That guy's nuts.
May I ask. What's the point of wearing a helmet doing a stunt like that, aside from red bull avert of course.
Always the chance of minor falls and knocks............if you go over one of the big drops, forget it
And for those who enjoyed that, here's another in a different environment..........incredible, with an insane end
Finally nearly finished bathroom; did ceiling and glossing last night, only a bit of papering & painting left now. Should be finished by weekend. Done living room and dining room ceilings tonight. The mrs (nm) will do glossing ready for me to paper at the weekend. Just the stairs & landing carpet to be fitted (by someone else, I ain't doing that ****er) plus hallway, living room and dining room laminate to fit (same and continuous - fitting myself) left then. That'll be 85% of house done in 5mths whilst still working full time and the mrs (nm) working weekday evenings and I've got three kids to watch. Still been playing footy two nights aweek too. I don't think that is bad going PS... he remaining 15% is kitchen and utility room #needtotopupthebankaccountfirst PPS... I don't use gloss, I use Satin but refer to it as glossing for you mere mortals to understand
