John Aldridge brings back memories. He was managing Tranmere when they brought off a major FA Cup shock coming back from 3-0 down at half time against Southamton in their replay to win 4-3. The same day as my Wycombe beat Wimbledon in the other replay 8-7 on penalties in what was the most epic match in the club's history. Wycombe were reduced to 10 men at 1-1 in the 69th minute and Wimbledon were awarded a penalty in injury time but our goalie saved. Less than 1 minute into extra time Wimbledon went ahead. In the last minute of extra time Wycombe levelled to take the game to penalties. It took 10 penalties each to decide the winners. Strangely the Wimbledon player who made a 40 yard run to score Wimbledon's first goal later played for us and is now our manager.
