Agree including me! thought we would have been onto a hiding, but that was some defensive display to be fair, yes we had my MOTM Fab pull off some incredible shot stoppers, but our defending was excellent, and while Sanchez looks rusty, you can see he has tremendous talent, which will serve us good after his confidence returns, I felt sure we would have capitulated in the last 15 minutes, but was proven wrong, a well earned point, not sure about some of those penalty calls, but if any are genuine, then tough as Spurs got dirty towards the end. I'm sure the London Media fake news will have them being defrauded of 10 penalties!............
Anyone who thinks we were good are just making excuses....We never had one shot on target thats how good we were So in your take of the game we played well. Spurs should have won that 6 or 7 -0......We defended well..OMG what planet are you on.....We got lucky that's all.....It was nothing to do with any game plan or playing well, It was Spurs inability to score at wembley something they are having trouble with and they gifted us a point which we are grateful for....We were awful and it was like watching men against boys.....
probably Fab or Sanches. Clement needs to do much better than what he is doing. A Draw hugely flattered us and we must start to play as a team with a solid game plan to win the game. There was nothing today and a point gained courtesy of the wembley pitch that Spurs cannot master. The stats tells you how we played and it was poor.
I dont call playing 9 defenders football. We parked the bus and they still had 26 shots with 8 on target and if Fab never put in a MOM performance it could have been a lot worse.....We had zero shots on target and only 4 shots off target and you liked that do you. If that's the way you like us to play our football then you can keep it and the sooner we are relegated the better.... Bloody hell we get a lucky point and we think we are world beaters again... We were Awful from start to finish and we knew Spurs were having problems at Wembley and clem was not good enough to exploit the situation......We are a joke club pretending to be a premiership club but not for much longer with Clem in charge....
" and we think we are world beaters again ". Making things up again, Dai. Nothing new there, then. If your so called "facts" don't actually stand up to scrutiny, and they rarely do, you simply create a fictitious scenario. Remaking history is your forte. Most regulars on here are so relieved that the team didn't suffer another thumping from Spurs'. Their delight and relief are palpable. The only person trying to make something out of that is you.
Spurs scored 3 in beating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley during the past week........ Just saying like.....
Dai we simply don't have the talent to go toe to toe with one of the best sides in the league. IMO good teams are built from the back and this is something Clement is working on. There's no overnight fix for our problems but yesterday's performance was a good step in the right direction. There will not be a sterner test than Tottenham who put Dortmund to the sword the other day. And my MOTM was Fade Fernandez closely followed by Fab.
totally agree with the majority on here. Clement played the game like Clough used to, get defence right first..zero goals against us away is showing that. Bony looked sharp when he came on, holding the ball up and giving defence a bit of respite. Clem might even start him and Sanches on Tuesday to get them up to speed. goals will come.
Dai claimed that Bony was not fit (post 55) but I'd heard the contrary. Dai posted: "↑ Just checked the games coming up and we have Reading (cup) Watford,West ham, Hudders and Leicester and should we have bad results with these games then the writing will be on the wall that our season will be a relegation dog fight and i for one are fed up with that scenario every season......Bony as expected is struggling in training and won't be selected yet. Abraham is young and inexperienced against seasoned defenders and the only one with any sort of ability is Ayew. Fer has done his bit too but the rest Especially in defence are poor and below the standard needed and i have to say this that i dont think clem is good enough to fix things and i can see now why he was sacked by Derby and has been a No2 for most of his career....I hope im wrong but i dont think i am sadly..." "Dai - with respect to Bony, I've heard the opposite, in that he's fit and looking sharp. You've seen him training or someone in the know told you? My source is the same one who told me that Bradley had been sacked and that the announcement would be 3 hours later - it was. He also told me that the Clucas deal had been done a couple of days before the announcement. So I'm puzzled?" Seems that Dai may have been wrong....
One poster keeps on saying we are poor defensively yet if you take the Man U game out of the equation we have conceded one goal in four games, In the Man U game I think Clement made a tactical error with his substitution of VDH with Routledge and did the same in this game. VDH was playing well and didn't need to be subbed. When you think back to last season the defence was a shambles and sorting it out was the No1 priority. Clement has more or less done this although obviously we are going to have the odd bad game defensively. On the subject of Fabianski making saves that's what a goalkeeper is there for. The down side is that we have only scored two goals in these games but Rome wasn't built in a day and becoming better offensively is going to take time and can't be done overnight.and will require some new players replacing some of the old guard. I am still optimistic about this season. THe bottom line is getting enough points to reach the minimum 40 mark and I don't care how we do it.
We dodged a bullet against spurs with good dogged defending and our attack can build now a solid defence looks to be established. Take no notice of Dai hes our village idiot mun !
