I think I've been a bit blind to it as I have always defended him by sticking up for him but today there was no defending him and I think it cleared my blinkers! He strikes me as the sort of player who will look a million dollars in training but is petrified in a match! Very frustrating
No worries. I've said hendo looks like a good five a side player. Neat and tidy etc. but no physical contact.
Just got back in from taking in the U23's game which was infinitely more watchable than the first game. They beat Coventry 2-1 with Olley and Luer scoring. Though Weir got sent off in the final minutes for kicking out at one of theirs who had punched him. Why oh why does Leo play Henriksen and Larsson together in midfield, before we kicked off I think all of us knew what would be the outcome. Cattermole and Ndong ran the midfield in the first half. At least Leo took one of them off and brought on Meyler who made a big difference. Thought Toral did well when he came on also. Though I would have taken Turbo off and played Campbell and Dicko up top together.
I like Slutsky..great guy at all that, but FFS what is going on in his head...Can't he see that Hendrickson and Larsson are too similar, they have nothing creative to give.....9/10 the ball goes sideward...WTF is wrong with Stewart. When is the kid going to start. Ditto Irvine. Have we paid good money for the guy to sit on the bench... Slutsky is beginning to make my back itch....Clueless in the English Championship.....Brings on Meyler who has an instant bearing on the game, who should have been on after 10 mins, takes off Dicko when we should have gone two up top and sacrificed Larsson who wasn't doing much.He's going to have to be a quick learner or we're bolted on relegation candidates.
I thought Larsson was ok. Toral was weak as piss at first and got knocked off the ball a couple of times. Then facing their goal you could see he looked a good player. Couple of good one twos down the left. Harsh on turbo who once the centre mid did their job he came into the game. Dicko looked a lazy ****er to me. If we hadn't needed to take off two appalling performers he'd a been hooked as well for me. If Campbell's isn't fit play dio. He's better than Dicko.
I wasn't even there today and I know exactly what you mean He does look like he's scared so he moves, but mostly it's away from our player with the ball to a place where he doesn't need to get the ball It's really odd, I thought at first it was just a misunderstanding while he got used to the team but he's clearly still doing it
in his defence. Dicko was up against a giant and we kept bombing the ball up to him. Their CBs must have thought Christmas had come early.. He needs someone to play off him, little give and goes...Dio or Campbell...When we began to play around their box we were crying out for 2 strikers to feed off each other. But brains trust had taken Dicko off. I'm beginning to lose patience with Slutsky...If we get stiffed at Reading then at home to Preston he can get on his bike and £uck off for me.
Agree, Larsson did OK, I thought Turbo did OK also, I would just like to see 2 strikers together. Dicko had a thankless task on his own up top, and neither Bowen or Turbo really got close enough to him to give him support. Basically that system doesn't work.
Agreed john. I just don't think Dicko showed enough or looked hungry enough. Not enough desire for me. He's not a centre forward either. It's a real worry slutsky is going to continue with this system.
That is a worry, Leo just doesn't seem to see what most of us see. This system doesn't suit the players we have, Kingsley hasn't got any pace, so he isn't a wing back, he is more a full back.
We signed the wrong striker for the formation we are trying to play. We needed a big back to the goal striker that can lay it back for the advanced midfielders. Felt sorry for Dicko. We weren't playing to his strengths.
My point was I didn't think he didn't care. I really don't know where you're trying to take this. If you want me to say you were correct, then I happily will. I just won't know what exactly you're correct about.
