Yes you did. I was so looking forward to seeing him last week He was immense today I know it's early, but Morgan plus?? Maybe, just maybe.
What a difference a week makes. Outstanding performance, from the manager down. But, a special shout out to the much critiqued Frase, Shane & Steve. They were on it from the 1st second.
Ratings FF - made a great couple of close range saves, just the blocker type that he's good at, it's the low ones to the side he struggles with. / Jam doughnut Berty - looked lively did okay, didn't do any mistakes / custard cream Cecil - Again looked lively a bit better than RB so gets a / McVities Dark Chocolate biscuit Wesley - Looks a very fine player, pinged the ball about beautifully and looks very comfortable in possession. Chocolate Eclair! Yoshi - quiet, that means he did what he had to do and took care of that monster Bentake well ! I love Yoshi - A nice warm bath and a cup of tea! Davis - Took his goal well but still think he doesn't offer enough in the side. Slows play down, sideways passes and a couple of very poor wayward passes in dangerous positions leading to CP attacks. Needs to be replaced with a bit more quality for the Saints to really thrive - A dry biscuit and a slap round the face Lemina - (Davis please take note you Terry ****wit impersonator) Sublime, lovely touches and skill united with power and aggression! I hope this isn't just a flash in the pan. MOTM best player on the pitch by a country mile! A whole tin of Cadbury Roses! Alfa Romeo - Didn't think he had his best game today? A bit of a mixed bag? - A cream egg Redmond - sigh.....really did think he was going to "Kick on" in horse racing parlance but seems to be really off form? Anonymous a lot of the time? Doesn't seem to really offer any kind of substantial threat, unimaginative and straight forward? Was easily kept quiet. - A Jacob cream cracker, no butter Tadic - another heavy sigh, even though he was a little better still hasn't got back to the heights of when his boyfriend and hair consultant Pelle was together with him in the team. Lost possession constantly and looked to be muscled out of a lot of 50 / 50 situations needs to be more competitive and stop falling over so much. - A piece of Mature Cheddar and a dollop of butter ( needs to get together with NR to sort our attacking options out! ) Long - Ran and ran and ran and never gave up! Just wish he could score more goals and be a little more clinical. Bourbon biscuit! MP - Dull and defensive doesn't inspire me, late with the subs........very undecided - A Goya Maria Cookie! Palace were unlucky not to score twice and actually I think had the better of the chances ( which we didn't have many of!) Still think MP2 has his work cut out to get this side really creating goal scoring opportunities but hopefully we won't concede many either. Don't get carried away with the result, this was in general a very poor Palace side and most teams would have really put them to the sword!
Steve Davis - Marmite - you either love or hate him Scored the winner saved us with some good defensive interventions and ran more than anyone else
Yeah sorry my post was worded rather weirdly. I care whether we win every game for 3 months or lose every game for 3 months. My enthusiasm wanes when we play poorly but it doesn't affect how much I care. Would have replied earlier but we've just changed internet providers and it's been sat at 0.3mb all day, I had faster speeds 15 years ago Regardless, a good 1-0 today and a decent performance.
I liked the post for its metaphors, not necessarily the content Virgil looked like he was in desperate need of a minstrel as when he came on he looked like he had pre minstrel tension.
Watched the whole game recorded...I know we were given space, but was pleased with the team. This was more like the real Saints than we've seen recently. Lemina and Hoedt look like great signings. Others had good games....Maya was Maya, Tadic looked happier and more comfortable, and Romeu so good he wore a shirt out . Redknapp agreed with me that Davis is a players' player.....we all love flashy, exciting players, but sometimes you need a reliable player like Steve....cannot be a coincidence that every manager plays him. Using Kreuzberg's scoring system....he's a nice reliable digestive biccy. VVD looked happy at the end of the game, obviously about the result, but more likely just to be on the pitch after 8 months. Someone needs to introduce Fraser to Hoedt....when asked about the defence in front of him, he complimented Maya and the other centre back (as he called him ).
