Anyone that watched Inter and Ajax under him knew this would happen. Ajax hated his style of play and the fans moaned about it despite winning the league 3 times in a row. I went to a few games when he was manager and the atmosphere was ****.

To be fair it was always an awful appointment. FDB seems like a weird guy as well, judging by Parish's tweet last night I think this is about more than results.

Apparently Hodgson won't be appointed until next Monday? Threat from fans not to turn up to Saturday's game too. Could be turmoil, so...

Based on their performance against Burnley it looked like the players were playing for him, just lacked the quality in front of goal. To dominate the game like they did and have 22 shots away at Burnley is not easy. I'm hoping they will find it a bit weird that he was sacked and we can get the win. Sammy Lee is also the first team coach there, he might be in charge for the game if Hodgson hasn't taken over yet

McClaren wasn't really a good club manager before England. Credit, he won the league Cup but Puel nearly did too. Two months before getting the England job a boro fan threw his season ticket at him during a game he was so disgusted. His cup run and UEFA cup run aside, he was dull and pants.

I'd argue Puel is a good club manager, despite a lot of Saints fans thinking he was dull and pants

Whether it's Roy or someone else (seems certain to be Roy though), I just hope that Parish has had nothing to do with the appointment. He's part owner of the club (I believe), so he can't exactly sack himself from that. But he can remove himself from making any football-related decision. This entire farce has shown that he has little clue, and fans, players and staff (including De Boer) don't deserve to be messed around. He's a fool.

They appointed Dougie Freeman as sporting director recently. Let him making the footballing decisions (otherwise what else are you paying him for). And if he fails, he can get sacked just like a manager can. Unlike Parish, who can continue to turn up each week.

I'd agree with you for sure. I was a fan.

Anyway, I thought McClaren wasn't a good one - that's what the conversation was about :)

Sounds as though Parish has indeed been butting into the footballing decisions.

Fairly simple 2-0 WHU win coming up. That's my thinking.

As for Parish/Palace, who cares, I can't even work out if it helps or hinders us at the mo, and that is my only concern.

Am I the only one, apart from Liverpool fans, who think Mane did no wrong? Ball played over the top, bounces, Mane tries to flick it into the goal. Goalkeeper rushes out of his area and tries to block the flick with his head. Gets a nick or 2 for his efforts. Let's ban scissor kicks or scorpion kicks or jumping or kicking the ball unless it's rolling along the ground. No place for any of that athleticism and trying to score goals in the modern game! I love 0-0 s.

We see them not given so often, so it makes it seem more harsh. But it was reckless, so I won't critique the ref on this one.

Actually it's Stones fault, if he had been doing his job he would have been kicked in the head

It's dangerous play, regardless of intent or not. Players have a responsibility to not put each other in danger.

Just one of those things unfortunately, definitely a red card though.
