That was hugely disappointing. What a dire performance. That was a match we should be winning. If we can't beat a newly promoted Newcastle at home - without their manager who's had very little investment then we are in for a terrible season. Let's hope Wales qualify for the World Cup so we can look forward to something.
Newcastle looked the more lively team from the start, and while we had some possession, we didn't really do anything with it, just could not break down the bus they parked, it will take some time and work before we can whip this lot into shape, Bony looks well off it, Sanchez looks good though not match sharp, If Abraham had put that goal away properly, could have been a different game, lessons to be learned, and the obvious one is our lack of goal threat...........
Evening boys. Apologies.. but this is just for Valley. please log in to view this image All the best for the rest of the season lads.
There were three points up for grabs and Newcastle snatched it with both hands. We didn't show an ounce of attacking intent in the first half. No complaints from me - we deserved what we got. **** all. Never mind, it's only Spurs at Wembley next up.
Just watched your game. Think your being a bit harsh. Carroll and Fer did ok . Clucas didnt do anything good or bad. The problem is the 4 of them look the same. Your side is poorly balanced with no width so no outlet for the midfield and youve lost the airel threat of Llorente and your missing that outlet . Defence is clearly shaky. Youve had a bad window and clearly have not strengthened in areas you needed to.Blame your board for that. Dont know what game Phil was watching - Sanches was terrible easily the worst player on the pitch. He had a mare. Saying that you were on top when he was subbed and then fell apart with the introduction of Bony. Not saying Sanches will prove a bad signing either. But if hes that out of touch youve got to question your manager starting him.
Sanchez was one of our better players who did more good than bad considering it was his first game, soon as he went off for bony, we dropped off, and it was all Newcastle, Clucas disappeared most of the game and Fer was disappointing as was Mawson, Ayew and Olsson both acquitted themselves well today..........
I'm sorry but doing 'ok' is just not good enough. They are bang average players, as is Ayew btw, and our CBs are an absolute joke.
Not really. Far too error prone. At fault for the poor defending, and should have buried the header first half.
