    but the fact that we have that sorta money and we're going after a L1 keeper?
    Not that we even need a keeper, it just makes Newcastle look like an eejit.

    Hmm... to be fair, i doubt that Ashley himself is having much to say about the transfers... Wouldn't it be Pardew and Llambias in charge? All Ashley would be doing, if anything, is releasing the monies? And really, they're making themselves look like tits - not us

    People complained about our interest in the keeper, now when a fair enough price for a League 1 keeper people complain again <laugh>

    I am happy it was rejected, we don't need another keeper.

    Uhm. If you honestly believe for one second that Pardew has any sort of final say in transfer business, then you need to dig a little deeper on this topic I think.

    Ashley (and to a degree Llambias) are very much in control.

    And they are making the club look like mugs to everyone else. We can see the difference between the club and the owners, people outside of the club cannot. They just see it as Newcastle United making yet another blunder.

    So Charlton go to the Premier League to say that an offer was derisory?

    Surely the club can offer what ever price they feel is adequate for a League 1 keeper with 1 year left on his contract.
