I wonder if Punch will be off now the QPR takeover is complete and they have money to burn. Maybe they'll let us have Gorkks as well as they become more ambitious?

I think QPR are happy for us to have Gorkss (for the right price), I just think the player doesn't want to drop down a league

Wondering whether that might change if he continues to be left off matchday squads for their last two games in August, as he was for their opener. Dropping down to a good-looking Championship team might start looking more appealing than sitting around in a suit.

You have to feel for the guy, a keystone in QPR's title winning/promotion bid only to fall down the pecking order when they begin life in the Premiership. It happened to Kevin Phillips when he scored over 20 goals for Albion to get them promoted then left for a Championship Birmingham at the time. It does happen.

If our former squad would get promoted.. We'd replace davis.. Seabourn... Hammond guly and Barnard/connolly for better players ..

Reckon Davis would be kept as player/coach. What a back-up keeper instead of a poor third goalkeeper that you'd never play. Why not give Connolly a chance in the Prem if he carries on with present form?

I would keep Connolly and Davis as coach/player.. As both would struggle in the prem but both integral to our future coaching set up

Sorry back on topic... I could see puncheon going now got a straite money deal as he proved his worth last year and would be a steal for qpr if he gets his performances consistent!

New owners may cause things to halt rather than speed up. If there's more money, QPR's targets may change.

Surely they've watched DVDs of puncheon and seen statistics snd all the hype that warnock has given about the player.. 1.25 mill is nothing for mr money bags.. Though our chairman is richer... <laugh>

I don't think Connolly is coaching material - Davis yes, Connolly no

Our owner(s) are richer not Chairman. However, got me wondering how much Cortese is worth. Didn't he earn 700K in 6 months last financial year (and worth every penny as far as I'm concerned). Must be easily a millionnaire with his financial nous. I bet he was on a healthy bonus for promotion last year as, presumably, was Adkins.

Seems strange this one didn't happen. They want Punch & we are looking for an experienced CB.
Gorss not playing at the moment.
Would make sense for both sides to gain.

Ah - I see we have a second Romsey/Saint - this should prove interesting over the next few months - I wonder if we share the same views...

I should imagine, including investments, Cortese is worth C£100million. However, we will never know.

Doubt it's a 100 mill..why would he work as an employee with that kind of money?

why? Connolly is one of the very best finishers around and his nous for being in the right place and getting shots away would be valuable to any youngsters.

whenever you have anyone of a high standard of technical talent (which he definitely falls into) it would be a valuable source to any club.

Is there a chance that Gorkss is not playing at the minute due to the on-going talks with Southampton about his transfer?

I don't think having technical ability is a forerunner to coaching ability. Le Tiss had tekkers to burn, but I think he'd be the first to say he'd be a hopeless coach. The problem with that kind of natural talent is that it's incredibly hard to translate to others less gifted - it's natural to these guys so ultimately not something that they can coach.

Remember when Hoddle was at Saints he was impatient with players with less natural talent than him. Doesn't do much for a player's confidence.
