At the end of the day it is only NA's opinion that matters, and I am sure he will say that he needs both in the squad and he will decide who starts based on what he sees on the pitch and in training. So I don't think a poll is necessary because as we all know you can find every opinion under the sun on the internet.
Lucky for Nigel that there is Martin if Seaborne (note correct spelling as I know some of you get upset!) gets injured. At the moment, the man in the team stays in the team, so I'm sure Seaborne will start.
I know it may sound a trivial point but we often appear to pitch them competing for a place but Martin isn't a natural left sided central defender, and is more of a natural cover for Fonte. I think Adkins agrees, as the time Martin did start was when Seaborne and Jaidi were unavailable and he didn't have another option, but not since. It does make a difference as England found out painfully against Germany at the last World Cup when John Terry was moved to the right hand side of defence and his positioning was all over the place.
I stated on an another thread I wouldn't be surprised to see Martin start over Seaborne tomorrow to combat the aerial and physical threat of Henderson, which seems to have kicked off this thread. This wasn't a slight on Seaborne who has put in some impressive performances this season and an important member of the SQUAD. At the end of the day whoever NA picks will be good enough for me. Who's the better player, not sure?? Seaborne more experienced, Martin great potential. Seaborne probably just edges it atm
Seaborne and Martin are very close, with Sebo edging it because of experience and he's the present incumbent.

Seaborne ahead of Martin. Adkins is showing this by picking him. Leeds game Martin got the start because no other CB fit or available. Seaborne's getting the shirt atm ahead of Martin and putting in great performances.
If Martin was better there is no question he would be starting.

but seriously Jaidi was awesome at the latter end of last season and he'll be back when fit

Martin best option for tomorrow ? No don't think so. In Adkins we trust. Whoever gets the shirt is the better option.
Don't see any reason for this not to be Seaborne. Just my opinion from what I have seen him play this season.
Looks very assured alongside Fonte. Martin's lack of left foot a worry.
Fonte & Seaborne the more they play the better they look.
