You won’t find me disagreeing. If not good enough to qualify, no point in going. For the most part watching international football is dire stuff and barely championship standard when Home countries are involved. It doesnt help when you have a rubbish manager like Martin O'Neill, years past his sell by date and his sidekick Keane. N Ireland are the exception.
