    Dear Lord,

Yes I know that we have not spoken for a while, well, since January to be precise, but once again I am asking for your divine intervention on our behalf in tomorrow's derby.

Last year you answered my prayers with better results than I could have hoped for, proving that, a) you really are a Geordie, and b) that you have a great sense of humour.

But once again the unwashed Heathens from down the road need to be shown the errors of their ways.

Just as you were plotted against by one of your own, so we too, have our very own Judas who has turned to the dark side. Yes I know that you have punished him by giving him a face that looks like a second-hand pinata, but still he is hatching an evil plan to cause upset to the righteous. Expectantly he prowls around that most run down part of Newcastle, known as Sunderland, just waiting for the opportunity to at last play his vengeful song at the end of a derby.

He has recriuted more deranged followers from his mentor SAF (Satan's Arse Feeler) and has blasphemed that his sole intention is to finish higher than his far more hygenic neighbours.

In a blatant attempt to silence our hymns in praise of Saint Joey and the team, his evil masters have reduced the number of members of the St James' congregation that will be allowed to attend on Saturday.

So I ask you once again, please let us walk away from the Cathedral Of Evil with all 3 points and turn the streets of Sunderland into rivers of tears. ( It might just clean the place up a bit!)

ps. 3-1 would be nice, with St. Shola, St. Colo and St. Jonas piercing their hearts and their net.

    Oldie but a goodie:

    Our Sholas Prayer

Our Shola take us to heaven,
    Awesome be thy game.
    Thy goals will come,
    the game will be won,
on the pitch with goal number seven
Give us this day our three points.
    And forgive us our neighbours,
as we forgive those who plot against us.
And lead us not into relegation,
    but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power of the geordies. for ever and ever. Amen
