I did better at this one. How many grounds can you name? 1.Aston Villa 2 Barnsley 3 Birmingham City 4 Bolton Wanderers 5 Brentford 6 Bristol City 7 Burton Albion 8 Cardiff City 9 Derby County 10 Fulham 11 Hull City 12 Ipswich Town 13 Leeds United 14 Middlesbrough 15 Millwall 16 Norwich City 17 Nottingham Forest 18 Preston North End 19 Queens Park Rangers 20 Reading 21 Sheffield United 22 Sheffield Wednesday 23 Sunderland 24 Wolverhampton Wanderers
I can't name many at all now, back in the 80s I could have named all football league grounds I think. I leafed through Rothman's yearbook many a time. My interest just moved on I guess.
The nostalgia list: 1.Aston Villa Villa Park 2 Barnsley Oakwell 3 Birmingham City St Andrews 4 Bolton Wanderers Burnden Park 5 Brentford Griffin Park 6 Bristol City Ashton Gate 7 Burton Albion Eton Park (I admit I had to look this one up!) 8 Cardiff City Ninian Park 9 Derby County The Baseball Ground 10 Fulham Craven Cottage 11 Hull City Fer Ark 12 Ipswich Town Portman Road 13 Leeds United Elland Road 14 Middlesbrough Ayresome Park 15 Millwall The Den (but a different one) 16 Norwich City Carrow Road 17 Nottingham Forest City Ground 18 Preston North End Deepdale 19 Queens Park Rangers Loftus Road 20 Reading Elm Park 21 Sheffield United Bramall Lane 22 Sheffield Wednesday Hillsborough 23 Sunderland Roker Park 24 Wolverhampton Wanderers Molineux
I got 22. I forgot ****ing Carrow rd. I knew it began with a c but every time I kept saying Canary I thought Burton was Pirelli stadium. It got the old brain box working though so thanks
So, Mr Bond, how many of those grounds have you been to? I've done 23, inc our beloved Allam house..Only one missing is the obvious one.
I've done 14 surprisingly. Especially for someone who isn't a I'll go anywhere at any cost, make any sacrifice type of supporter.
Same here, just Forest Green and Newport to do, although I've been to Somerton Park twice. We'll be visiting Newport on October 7th, and Forest Green the next time City have a Saturday or mid-week free. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine
I've only been to 3 on the nostalgia list - Hillsborough (a D1 fixture Wednesday vs Liverpool in around 1991), the Baseball ground a few times as a student there and Fer Ark.. It's poor considering i'm 45 years old but in my defence i've lived abroad for 20 years so have been to quite a few foreign grounds! in fact I might start a thread on this..
We should decide on a name for our stadium, before we end up like Stoke having to call it something **** like the bet365 Stadium. Everybody should just call it The Circle.
On the topic of grounds visited I post this link in case anyone wants a Christmas gift idea... He has drawn all grounds and for £25 it might interest some
