What have athletico got to do with Mata? Looks like Chelski might get Modric too or do you think Fulham will turn them down?
Regardless of who gets him, why oh why wasn't he bought before the clause expired?!?! Surely more central midfielders and defenders have got to be Arsenal's priority though???
Kevin Bond Confirmed this Morning Modric is'nt Leaving Spurs,so you've no worries on Chavs getting him
whoever it is he play's for(don't know why i thought it was Athletico) i read they turned Chelsea's bid down
He's TOP TOP class and would have been perfect replacement for Nasri. Mata and Cahill will both end up at other big clubs (where they will both excel). Either we pay - up or miss out like we normally do.
I can live with players going to Man City or Chelsea for the money, but if Cahill goes to Lpool, which may be an unfounded rumour I heard, that is different.
Indecision and delays has cost us players in the past, even recently is Jose Enrique if some can be believed, would have made a good fit for us. The bare facts are these. Of the key players we have sold Fabregas, Clichy and before long, Nasri. In their place has so far come no one. I'm not talking about Gervinho who I do not consider a like for like replacement for either Cesc or Nasri and the others really are youngsters who should not have to shoulder the burdens of a regular first team player. Arsene has apparently ruled out Mata, if that option was on in the first place. If it was, then the time to have sealed the deal was before July 31 when he could have been purchased for 17m. Now Valencia would simply laugh at such a bid. The transfer window is not over and Arsene may yet surprise us but to me, it will be a surprise.
i think its very good that Spurs will not sell their best player to the Chavs and are standing by their Decision to keep him at the club, pitty we couldnt do that :-(
Trouble is, when you keep a person it doesn't mean he's going to be giving you his best over the season anyway. If the heart is not in it then one needs to consider whether to bring in someone else who does want to play for you. It's not easy I'm sure but we live in a world where players do not respect contracts anymore.
I'm glad we've cleared that up. Didn't realise Kevin Bond was in charge of transfer dealings as spurs though??!!??
Did we ever make a move for Enrique? Wasn't aware we were ever interested bar paper trash talk so I don't know how that constitutes us 'missing out'. The only player we've actively made a move for and failed with this season was Phil Jones to United and, as things stand, I can't say I blame him (also, with Ferdinand/Vidic out he's fooking laughing!).
