I cant believe you have given in that easy roof, come on where's your Swans spirit. I got an Faw youth cup game Sunday, first game of the season, know how these managers feel, just like the swans, I have 4 starters missing and one whose signing on form was rejected for an error. first one on the list roof. http://www.faw.cymru/en/faw-cups/
Pathetic! We've apparently chased him all window and only jump in for him at the last second. This smacks of Huws doing. A last second panick because the Yanks wouldn't pay out on Arias. We're stuffed if Naughton or Olsson get a long term injury now.
Sub standard dealings by us again....Where is the strengthening of our defence that every man and his dog knew we had to do ever since Ash left.....We have spent nothing and there is nothing in the locker as cover......It will be a long season by the look of it...
I hear the plan is to move Routs to full back............he's ****t on the wing , ****t as a number 10, so theres no where else left to play him!! Also time to move a few u23s up. Tyler Reid and Joe Rodon to name a couple. No worries.......alls rosy in the Liberty garden once more!!!
Routs is one of our best players left and will not play in an alien position....Our U23 players look out of their depth since promotion so i cant see them being good enough with them leaking goals left right and center. No the fact is we never did what we were suppose to do and that was put some quality into the defence and we have even made it weaker....
Time will tell bob . I see no problems getting our share of points from here and a stop to leaking goals at the back .
I agree, Routs has been a great player for us over the years but his wing play has become mediocre at best so why not try him at full back if needs demand. He's cerainly not shy of a tackle. Worked well for Oxlade at Arsenal and Milner at Liverpool, Valencia at Man U etc
He is not a defender though and would not have a clue about defending.....3 games in and we put a winger as full back is asking for trouble and shows other teams how weak we are....Why the hell give away our defenders without replacements in place first....We were bad last season so why make things worse that we have to look at players to play out of position and a position they have never played in....It is telling everyone that the Swan is injured and come and exploit that...
Granted hes not a defender but he is one of the more intelligent footballers around and I'm sure he could pick up a bit of defending easy enough. 3 at the back, Naughton and Routs as wing backs I'd give it a go if we needed to.
I've actually said a few times on here in the past that he's better defensively than attacking. I'd rather him start at wing back instead of Rangel or Fer.
Reading through the thread and I think the quote above captures most peoples feelings and also highlights the real problem - strengthening all over. To strengthen all over in one transfer window would probably cost the Club too much money. The reality is that we are now paying the price for some very poor signings and the lack of a coherent transfer strategy over the last couple of seasons. I think the signings are a step in the right direction, but it will take time to catch up to where we were three or four seasons ago. The sale of Kingsley and the failure to sign a right back due to poor administrative work are both criminal offences...in footballing terms!
Ridiculous way to use the transfer window....We have spent nothing and made a profit.. We were in a mess when the season ended and we are still in a mess but hey we made a profit for the shareholders..... You could not make it up....
