Frigging networks out here mate, ****e!!!

I am very pleased with Grayson and Baines business, in fact i'm quietly confident under this new regime TBH, i'm just shocked that we have only spent just over £1m mate.

Obviously Grayson seems to be stabilising the club, identified the tossers and taken action to get rid of what he can.

I'm sort of hoping we can aim for a mid table position or even higher and then go again in January. See where we are, see what's lacking and do the necessary to put that right in the next window and hopefully push on from there.

I think there's quite a few on here who'll agree with those sentiments mate.

    You mis-spelt "****er of a chairman/Owner"

But I'm very happy with the players we've brought in - much like @Dr Bri says I still think we're thin on the ground for the amount of games we have coming up but the acquisitions have been positive IMO.

That's just me wishful thinking mate, as we all know, this is SAFC and things don't always work out the way we all hoped.

I've touched on this, he should be a beast at this level but may be 3-4 months till he's full pelt.

Massive benefit if he's fresh when legs are tiring later in season potentially though.

I cant see how we're thin on the ground. Other than Left back we have more than 2 players to cover each position.

We've got some decent players in, despite spending **** all, got £30M for a keeper & offloaded some serious wages into the bargain. Not a bad few days' work there. If we can sell Papy Dodgydildo and some of the other ****ers who don't want to be here this may be the start of something decent.

Not sure where you get that mate without putting players in weaker positions

    451
    Gk:3 Ruiter, Steel, Mika- Sound
LB:3 Jones, Love, Mathews - Better hope Love comes good and stays fit as the other two aren't good enough. Living robbers. Worry area
CB:2 Kone, Browning - Only two for each birth here, not only that only the 2 first choices look the only ones good enough, 1 injury and we're...
CB:2 Wilson, O'Shea - ...playing an already rubbish Mathews here or bringing in Beadling who hasn't been considered for the Seniors yet. Worry area
RB:2 Oviado, Galloway - Oviado should do well but galloway looks all over the shop. Only two senior options which means shoehorning. Worry area
CM:3 Catts, Rodwell, McNair - Reasonably well covered. No probs with the CM.
CM:2 Ndong, Gibson - As above.
LW:2 McGeady, Watmore - So light we'll need to rely on playing youngsters out of position or take our best striker Grabban off the front line with just ...
RW:2 Mcmanaman, Asoro - ...one injury to either 1st choice wide man. Both big worry areas.
AM:3 Williams, Honeyman, Gooch- Well stacked, happy with this area.
ST:3 Grabban, Vaughan, Asoro - Options there for a single birth striker slot. No prolific goalscorers though. Big worry area

Yeah the strongest team looks good for this league, happy with that. Once injuries set in our lack of depth and quality will cause us problems imo. 27 man squad. Only two more players than a Prem squad with a **** load more games including 3 in weeks at times. Plus loads of kids with limited experience of competative football. I think your expectation are to high fella. Too much presure. Keep the best XI fit and we'd there abouts but injuries and fetigue will 100% efect our team selection throughout the season.

I say Midtable, up from lower midtable. And confident of a playoff push next season.

I agree with the lack of goalscores mate but other than that well have to agree to disagree. Youve got to remember theres alot of dross in this league aswell so we will have an option to rest players against the likes of Burton etc and id like to think the players that come in will get the job done.
McNair is naturally a CB so hes another option there if need be. I dont expect OShea to feature much but any 2 out of Kone, Wilson and Browning will be solid.
Rightback is a problem area but im fairly sure Jones can hold his own in this league, or any of the other 2 for that matter. Browning can also play RB so theres another option.
We have the option to play 2 central midfielders or 3 in a 433 so we have plenty of options there. We could even play 4411 with Gooch, Honeyman or Willams sitting off the main striker. With the midfielders weve got we can switch to various formations depending on opposition or injuries.
Watmore can play out wide or central so can Grabban so that will help cover Mcmanaman and Mcgeady.

My only concern like many is lack of goalscores but like i said i think Watmore can help with that and hopefully Vaughan can show us all how he managed to score 26 goals last season. I think Maja will chip in with a few from the bench aswell.

Nah, mate, not buying it, injuries are an unavoidable part of the game and it's a physical league with loads of games. The dross is irrelevant, you don't need to be good to get stuck in. The league dross just turned us over 3-0 too. Hard work and physical labour win games in this league too just as Barnesly proved. Yep agree to disagree, just please try not to be to harsh if they don't live up to your expectations fella. :)

Haha im looking forward to come back on here in May :1980_boogie_down:...
Last weeks result doesnt worry me because theres lots of crazy results like that happen in this league. Burton beat the geordies this time last year for example but over the course of the season the quality and strengh of the squad usually prevails..
Looking at every other teams in this league i dont see any others with a stronger overall squad than ours. Its only our lack of firepower that lets us down.

I've been looking at the other squads too, most of them have 30+ players with heaps more league experience in their squads than we have. See you in May(Probably before)

    Yes hopefully before :emoticon-0100-smile.

30 players is abit extreme i know theres more gamea in this league but a squad of 23 should be enough. I dont expect us to be in the league cup anymore after the Everton game either.
I think weve got a good blend of youth and experience. Either way well all certainly have a more entertaining season this year not being whipping boys every week.

Other than Wolves big signings their squad is pretty average hence the fact theyve done nowt in years. A few injuries and theyll suffer big time.
Boro have a very strong starting 11 but lack the same quality on the bench.
I cant really comment on Leeds because they have a squad full of foreigners but they looked very good against us. They the team to watch i think.

23 isn't enough for the Premier League let alone Championship. They're limited to 25 players and teams always fill them and are forced to send seniors on loan due to the limited slots. We're talking seniors here. They fill their squads with seniors cause u23 don't have to be registered. Think you're in for a shock fella.

Just the 7 games in 3 weeks this month.

Leeds, again good best 11 but their squad is smaller than ours, but not surprising as they're also under severe financial restrictions. I expect them to fade off over time. They lack the depth. Seriously restricted like us.
