The pub l used to like in Winchester was The Black Boy. Have not been there for 20 years or so.

 

I drive past it every working day. I've considered popping in for a 'swift half' on occasion but that info has turned me right off the idea.

 

Nope...a bank is different to a building society. So it's 0% fact and it seemed quite insulting to her actually.

Another pub that I use at least once a year with the Ramblers. And another pub where the beer is ferociously expensive, but well kept, I must admit. They were open last Christmas Day, and we all piled in there after our Festive Walk. First pint was free, so that was a FIVER less than normal.

 

Yes. How could anyone possibly mistake a building society for a bank?

 

I know the exact place she works..... No where did I call her dumb. I said she was worse then Targett as she is ditzy/ air head. So despite what I seem to be doing maybe you seem to have got the wrong end of the stick. I wasn't the one calling Targett thick.

 

I can confirm that Banks and Building Societies are not the same. I worked in a Bank until they tried to turn the staff into sales people.

 

When questioning someelses intelligence who is very unlikely to be able to defend themselves I found it pretty poor from a well respected admin. Anyway, it's deadline day and we have a full on couple of hours ahead of us...

 

The Bank / Building Society debate is a mark of how dull Saints' deadline day has got.

I was hoping for one more signing...preferably an attack minded player. Disappointment is the story of my life.

Yep. He's gone to Santander, which used to be a building society before it became a bank, before it became a Spanish bank! He's currently asking the staff why he can't have a building society account and getting annoyed because the staff keep trying to sell him stuff.

 

Then again, I'm not sure what people we're expecting. Deadline day in general is overrated, but especially when it comes to us.

 

He was in front of me in the queue at the bank...

 

Try the Nationwide thats both bank and building society..........

 

I think it's been a good window. Not excellent, not bad and better than ok. One signing away from excellent.
