£35m for Ox is to much even if he had a few years left on his contract, but when he only has a year to go and is so injury prone it is a waste of money
wow 35m + 5m add ons for oxo cube. Thats expensive for essentially a bench player. think you would have been better off getting mahrez for 45 for cover. I guess the one thing you could say oxo is that he's more athletic than mahrez so can just slot in with the pressing game
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain never held Chelsea talks due to Liverpool interest: Deal now done ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN never discussed personal terms with Chelsea as he is focused on joining Liverpool this summer.
Different players though. Ox will offer cover wide but play centrally and at least be able to run forward with the ball something our current midfielders (bar Cout) are unable to do. It is a lot of money. All I'll say is, as long as that £35m doesn't stop us pursuing other targets then fine. Put it this way, if we sell Sakho for £30m then costs have covered themselves.
This as well . He rejected 180k a week at Arsenal and turned down Chelsea because he wants to play for lfc and klopp. That kind of commitment is commendable and id like to think will mean he'll give everything in every game and not go off on a strop 2 years later
Yep - and I think Klopp will really get the best out of him. Klopp is really attracting players to join us - the brand and managers name are important commodities in football.
People say he can play centrally (his own words) but whenever i've watched him centrally, he does some good stuff but he does a lot of stuff terrible. - Good that he can beat a man and he's quick but hes also a little brainless and dribbles far more than he should rather than play the ball as a CM should. - He's very attack minded and he lacks the discipline as a CM in my book and has ramsay syndrome in that he's always too far forward positionally - Pretty sure every time he's been stuck in the middle he loses the ball in dangerous places (awareness? dribbling) and gets caught in possession for that role imo. Off the top of my head it happened against Bayern and Monaco. - Not sure about his passing but its never been something that struck me I was going to say before he was a utility player but even then i don't think of him as one as i think he's pony in the middle. Good cover for RB and winger though (especially if he can get better end product and his lack of consistency isn't wengeritis). The other thing i didn't like was his injury record. He's looked really good at wingback though (although he was a shambles at your lot)
Tactics, strategy, money ball, squad ... who cares. We've bought a player and spent a **** tonne of moneeeeeeeeeeey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Transfer deadlines baby !! Loadsamoneeeeeeeeeeeeeey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any idea what he's going to be getting at liverpool? His official reason was because he wanted to play CM. Be interesting if he gets that wish but if he takes anyones spot it'll be Can (whos looked really good so far) or Winja as i can't see him playing number 6. If Lemar comes/Couts stays and when Lallana comes back he deffo ain't getting any game time
yeah deadly on the counter. One thing you guys do very well. The big games will be scary for the opposition defenders. It'll be interesting how you guys still fair though when the opposition turn up and just play 10 behind the ball and long balls (you've added 2 midgets so that won't help set pieces wise)
