    Hi Guys,

Quick message from me: I believe football fans can and should contribute to their clubs, and ultimately, to football.

I've been working on something that will allow individuals to be more connected to football, It's a website that links football clubs to "scouts".

By "scouts", I mean people who want to contribute to the game and people who are knowledgable about football. This would be your contribution to football. It's a system that allows football clubs to request scouting reports (on a player, a nation, a competition or even an analysis on opposing football teams) from a worldwide pool of "scouts".

Maybe this would be a better way of looking at it: I want to "create" a new type of scout. I'm sure that whenever the club you support is linked with a new player, you and fans worldwide search up youtube videos (I do the same thing). Hopefully you've heard of Scout Nation?
People running scout nation are who I imagine would be the early adopters, the new type of scouts. Instead of scout nation posting videos on youtube, this way they could work with multiple clubs and get paid much more than currently. Long term, I'd hope that the system becomes easy enough for anyone to get involved.

I want to create a system which benefits the individual (in this case the scout), because they are the heartbeat of everything. But the truth is that I'm an amateur, all I have is a small idea and a website, so I'm open to any suggestions, I just wanted to share my initial idea with as many people as possible so that together we can make it work and make a difference.

I know this sounds like a load of bull****, its not. Thank you for letting me freely post on this forum, thank you for reading through (whether you read the first line or got to the end), and for those of you that reach out to me, thank you so much. Thank you all in advance for your help.

    Best,
    Akhil

I think you under estimate how the scouting network operates. I know a guy called Trevor Gould, his brother is the more famous "Bobby". He is now the academy manager at Northampton. Before this he was employed by Arsenal to be one of a few scouts they have in Northampton. He was already in touch with schools and clubs throughout the town.

A school or club call a scout, if they scout thought the player was worth a closer look, they would call Trevor, he would take a look and if he thought the player was good he would watch him a couple more times before making a call Direct to Arsenal who would then decide if they should send down a top guy to take a look.

Can you imagine every parent, every family member and every friend of a friend unindating the system with footage of their "wonder kid".

I know one bet I'd win... I bet Glory is checking in here logged out and his fingers will be aching to reply ;)

Ristac, thank you for your reply. Please don't get me wrong, I can only imagine how difficult it is to be a football scout. I think they are essential to the future of the sport.

I don't want to replace the current football scouts. I want to create something to supplement them. This article: https://footballpink.net/2017/05/02/the-life-of-a-premier-league-scout/ is about Stuart White. Stuart worked as a scout at Burnley and WBA. In the article, Stuart says that after initial contact with a player he starts to watch them through a recruitment called wyscout- after which you start to develop and build the players profile. From what I've read it seems like the scouting process works something like this: Identify- Alert club- Analyze- Decision (try to buy or pass). Wyscout assists in the analysis part, I'd like to assist in the first two: identify and alert club. Perhaps this could be a tool for existing scouts in teams to communicate with even more people around the world. Imagine if you had a system where everyone reports on latest talent and any club has access to said system.

That's why a good youth player will have 10-12 scouts watching his every move - the scouts will already know who the good one's are before they have even left school <ok>

But you'd assume that the 10-12 scouts would come from clubs who are already super wealthy, your "superclubs" (Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, etc) right?
I want to make a system that is catered to the rest of the clubs. It's been said that Madrid have the largest scouting network (around 200). I want this to be the biggest global scouting network, which any club can access. As for its cost, it would have to be significantly cheaper than the alternative (hiring more scouts to expand each clubs reach).

For example, lets take a bottom half premier league club like Burnley (no disrespect to Burnley or any Burnley fans obviously). I'd imagine (and I could be very wrong, this is just a guess), that Burnley don't have the resources to search for talent around the world. But if they had access to a system like this, they would be aware and notified of international talent.

^That's just how I'm looking at things. Now I will obviously be biased, I openly admit that. But how would you or anyone else create a system that would benefit scouts, a system that might help clubs who can't afford to have such large networks?

Again, thanks to everyone who's replying to this, it all helps greatly. Much appreciated.

    Mukhia,

What you have is a great idea, but, as with all great ideas, there are flaws, flaws that can't be fixed and flaws that need ironing out, unfortunately, while I can see the light bulb above your head, I can also see the obstacles that either stop it from getting off ground, or, it's doomed to fail after a short period of time.

1, You're going to need a website that allows reports and videos to be uploaded to it, plus, also allows professional scouts / clubs to be able to download details and videos from it, if you ain't got those capabilities, or something similar then your idea hits a dead end.

2, Should you get a website up and running, then, as Ristac said, it's going to be inundated, on a daily basis with literally thousands upon thousands of would be scouts from around the world, some genuine, some just looking for money, and some who don't really know what to look for in a potential professional player. This will continually crash your website.

3, Would be scouts are probably going to upload numerous reports and videos, which guarantees your website will continually crash.

4, Professional scouts will not entertain that number of reports and videos on a daily basis, irrespective of how many clubs there are in Britain, and around the world.

5, Would be scouts in Germany, Russia, Italy etc will most probably be scouting for clubs in their own country, even more so for the club they support. How many languages can you speak, how many languages are you going to have on your website?

The more pages, reports, videos etc you have on a website, are uploaded and downloaded on a daily basis the bigger the workload on the server, meaning the website will be very slow, and continually crash.

The alternate option is to set up several of your own servers, and you're going to need a few, probably in different countries, even then, chances are your servers will be very slow and continually crash.

Then, there's the adverts you're going to need to survive.

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad tidings, but there's lots more to it than you may have thought about.....the technical side is huge......:emoticon-0148-yes:
