    Good Morning Everyone

Pierre-Michel Lasogga has gone back o Germany to pack his bags...

He's off to Elland Road on a season long loan...

A deal has been reached between the Leeds hierarchy and the 25 year old German international leaving Villa and Wolves disappointed.

It it believed that Leeds will only have to cover 30£ of his wages, with Hamburg picking up the majority.

Tbh I didn't really understand what Leeds see in Lasogga, but he was right at the top of Christiensen's wish list, and he has not let us down yet!!!

Would you have rather Leeds dug a little deeper and signed Chris Gayle? Looks likely that the Toon hitman wil now be on his way to Fulham!

    Thoughts?

Are we expecting any more additions to the squad before Thursday's deadline, if so which position(s)?

Equally, are we expecting any departures?

Said it before so will say it again. Prices for UK players are way off base as Gayle, Hugill, Geastede are ridiculous. Hamburg are paying 65% of Lassogas wages and if we pick up the option to buy him he will only cost us £1.7m so a no brainer. If he doesnt work out we dont buy. Grot could be massive for us and only cost £750k an dit looks like we are buying the Swede too, so all 3 will cost us around £4m. No brainer as we still have around £12m in a war chest for January, plus we could have another £7m for sell on from Rose

Gayle is going for £14.5m to Fulham which was reduced from £20m as Newcastle dezzy to buy someone else. As far as Im concerned we got the best deal by a mile. Well done Orta & Kinnear

Morning Elland. Is that 30 Euro a week or month. Good value either way. Doubt Tc had much to do with signing or picking him. Still, it represents real ambition by the Club and we can just hop he works out, just like other signings. Half a week of international break over and no rows on site yet. Whys that?

I would have much preferred Gayle, but maybe not at that value.

But why RCDM?? Gayle is not good enough for the Premier or the bar codes would have kept him, TC is building for the Premier so lets go with what he sees as the way forward and good future :emoticon-0148-yes:

    Morning all...

    Was Wood worth £18m?

    Is Gayle better than Wood?

Gayle every day of the week for me over Lasogga but I trust our backroom staff so if they think he is worth it...

£30k a week for an injury prone loan player is poor in my opinion. At the end of the season you have spent 1.56 million and the player can leave.

Gayle at £14.5m will still be a £14.5m player next season and chances are more closer to £20m a sound investment.

Anyway, Lasogga has my full support, I'm more excited by the players we already have, I hope Lasogga doesn't halt Grots progress though.

Newcastle fans are surprised he is going but they accept they have to raise funds or they can't sign anyone, some are annoyed they can't keep Gayle and sign a new player.

Palace fans are up in arms that they are not going in to try and get Gayle back, he has scored goals in the PL and he scores for fun at this level. I don't get the Benitez doesn't want him so he is no good attitude, he didn't want Anita either so is he no good?

Ristac, Wood wasn't worth the money but we cashed in so great, about time we benefited. We are only paying Lassoga the same we paid Wood, so a like for like player at worst for the same money. If he performs the same as Wood we get an £18m gift at the end of the season.

The problem in this country is that every club thinks Prem money trickles down so that they can put crazy valuations and average players. Reality shows the truth though as UK players left in the cold and on the shelves with no contract whilst overseas players of ability come here cheaper than our academy players.

Check the list of pro footballers out of work with no club due to wage demands & former club valuations

You may find Ristac that Anita lacks pace and could be the weak link in the present back four, time will tell.

Morning all. Not entirely sure we need another CF. But if TC does, who are we to argue. All in all, we are so much better off now than we were at this stage last season.

Will be interesting to see when everyone's fit, who starts, who's on the bench pushing to start, & who can't even get on the bench

Doc... I'm basing my desire to have Gayle replace Wood on his proven record at this level, he's goals at PL level which is more than Wood and seeing him play.

You're basing your desire to have Lasogga based on slightly twisted Wiki facts because the ones you posted the other day were painting a slightly false picture and YouTube.

Lasogga is a gamble, Gayle is proven, we want promotion and the money is there so spend it, get Gayle and Lasogga then.

Why have a war chest for January when prices are inflated, I fully support Leeds United and the board and the coach and their decision but my own gut feeling is we should have snapped up Gayle.

I still prefer Berardi but my point is because Benitez doesn't want a player it doesn't mean that player is no good. Every player we have signed this season was surplus to requirements to their old club, it's just crazy saying a player is no good because their previous club was willing to sell. Look at old red nose selling us Strachan, then again selling Pogba and buying him back for how much? Managers often get it wrong ;) <ok>

Ristac, not £30k a week, 30% of his wages so good deal ... Gayle will strengthen Fulham for sure if he's on it, but there's obviously a reason Toon don't want him ... the danger with Gayle is that he gets complacent making the big bucks, and his wages will be very high so good luck with that one

let's focus on one of the key components for Leeds signing players, and it also applies to keeping players ... TC has stated very clearly that he only wants players who want to be at Leeds, who are committed to the cause and who want to be successful ... so far we have seen a team filled with passion and desire, a team fighting for every blade of grass, and the results have deservedly followed ... there's no messing around here, it's get with the program or fcuk off ... let's see what our squad looks like on Friday, but in all honesty if we continue to perform as we have then top six will happen

Hugill valued at £8m is just ridiculous, but such is the desperation of Championship clubs to get to the Prem the gambles they take get more and more outlandish ... Leeds have a blueprint that looks sensible and sustainable, and it's good for the long term ... Villa spent £80m last season and struggled, now they are hampered because of FFP and they can't offload their overpaid dross ... their madness has backfired, and if they're not careful they will end up marooned in the Championship for a decade

nope, I don't accept criticism of our leadership or negativity towards Tommy and the team ... so far the business done has been exceptional, and the football exhilirating ... long may it contnue

Ive one question. I see TC being mentioned by some in connection with the signings. My understanding is, as coach, he has nothing to do with who is signed. Kinnear, Orta and Rad doing that end of things. Have I picked up the situation wrong?

Don't forget that that the U23's have been strengthened significantly and should be providing. if not this year, then probably next, a few new talents

    Morning Billy..

Apologies Elland put 30£ In the opening post and I assumed he meant 30K

I just want to make it clear, I'm not knocking anyone at the club, I'm as happy as anyone and I do trust their decisions, how could you not so far. I'm just debating Gayle or Lasogga on a personal preference basis.

I do feel a few are letting things run away in the excitement of the moment, I agree with LeedsLondon it's a long season, let's not get too carried away and we don't want to weigh the team down with too much expectation, there will be bad results to come as well as a lot more good ones I hope.

A few days back Lasogga made it clear, he wants to be in the starting 11 and this seemed a problem when we had Wood. If he plays great and deserves the shirt fine, I hope promises have not been made that TC finds hard to adhere to. I hope Lasogga doesn't hinder the progress of Grot unless he is banging goals in for fun.

Again though, just discussing the merits of Gayle or Lasogga and picking up on some inaccuracies aimed towards Lasogga that suggest he is the next Messi. He is a gamble that I hope pays off <ok>

On his two interviews I have seen, when questioned about future signings he has said you need to ask Orta

Definitely final say on starting 11 tactics and everything game related but not on who comes in. Maybe a say on who he doesn't need and who may leave.

I did have my doubts on Orta but if he is able to find us more players like Saiz and Alioski long may he continue.
