Your making me remember sports science stuff...ugh

The athletic prime for most footballers is between 26-29.

Centreback is a little later. The position is less reliant on speed and more so on reading the game. So the sweet spot between athleticsm and technical understanding of the position happens around the ages 28-31. Centrebacks also tend to have longer careers.

"Wingers tend to peak and decline the earliest. Wide attackers under the age of 23 play more minutes than U-23 players at other positions, but wide attackers over 30 are much rarer than strikers or center-backs of an equally advanced age. While most of the curves are well on the downslope by 30, the curve for center-backs by contrast doesn't really begin to decline until 32 or 33."

Maybe ... just very underwhelming signing if it happens.

Agreed. I would like Van Dijk.

Evans is linked to City and Leicester too. But I don't think he would be a bad signing by any means.

Well if Mustafi is going, then we definitely need another CB.

Wenger will probably play Evans at LWF to replace Sanchez <rofl>

So it does look like we are now willing to sell Sanchez for the right offer, but the thing that baffles me is why is this happening now? Has one result really changed Wenger's mind? Sanchez looked like a player who wanted out against Liverpool but he gave the same reactions last season when we were getting our ass handed to us by the likes of Bayern. We have known probably known that he wants out from last year. This is just staggering stuff.

I think a LOT of the players body language against Liverpool angered Wenger, and he realized they needed to be shipped out.

Though I agree, its no excuse, its bad management all around at the club. Wenger should have seen it coming that these players would be disinterested. Just a few weeks ago he was spouting nonsense like "a player should be always committed until the final day of his contract". It was similar to what he was saying last year with his "my future is not affecting the team". He failed to realize above all, players are human beings, and its natural to not give a **** when you know youre going to be leaving in a year.

Lol, so the OX has now rejected Chelsea, and wants to go to Liverpool. Wants to play in midfield, this guy can now **** off, demanding a fixed position despite proving **** all. ****.

That's a really bad look for us if even Liverpool are able to start poaching our players now...

He won't even be a starter there anyway

Wouldn't get into either of those sides, although of the two Chelsea would make better use of him as a squad player.

At Chelsea, he would play at RWB, no ****ing way he gets anywhere near their midfield, Klopp won't be impressed either by a player who is demanding to play in one position, despite proving **** all.

    "even Liverpool"

Where did AFC finish last season?, are AFC in the Uefa League Cup or the CL this season, what is AFC's current league position?, why does AFC's top player want to join Man City?

Despite the obvious reaction to you looking down your nose at a club that has had far more success than AFC just consider football is about era's and AFC's could about to permanently take a turn for the worse whilst the opposite could be said for us, I personally don't want us to sign the ox anyway.

But good luck for the season Krone.<whistle>

I don't get it myself, he isn't getting in the wing positions and I've seen nothing that shows me he can play central, I'd be gutted if we bought him. He would be decent cover for our wide men only.
If we buy him and not Lemar if be so ****ed off.

While I'm here, don't sell Sanchez to City all you're doing is strengthening a direct rival and cementing your place as a soulless football club that cares about the business side of the game only.

Put him up for sale if you want to cash in you'll get decent money abroad and getting £5-10 million less is better than ensuring City finish above you.

I think that boats sailed with the disaster of a start we've had in the season. The way things are going, we'll be lucky to get 6th place if things aren't resolved quick enough. But i do agree, better to sell abroad than to another PL team that will most likely finish above us. It will also undermine everything that Wenger's said over the summer transfer window about Sanchez. No way will he live it down, the fans will really be after him.

    I just thought..

Arsenal must be the first Club in the history of football where the manager looses the dressing room and we get rid of the dressing room rather than the manager.<laugh>

The Board and management have no choice but to support Wenger, as it would look like they don't have a ****ing clue, which they obviously don't. Their gravy train is coming to an end and their shortsightedness will come to haunt them big time. Unfortunately the only ones that suffer are the fans, as they won't or the players.

A few media outlets are reporting that most of the unrest in the arsenal dressing room is down to sanchez, with a lot of players being unhappy at his attitude and want him out of the club. Not sure how true this is but there was some unrest caused by him last season, I think there was a training ground bust up if I remember. This might explain why we are now willing to sell him. Quite a few people on here, including myself, suggested that sanchez would not sulk, and we should keep him, but I am not so sure now.

Should we keep him and send him to the reserves for a few weeks, similar to what Liverpool did with suarez? It is a world cup year, so it is in his interests to play well. Or should we bite the bullet and sell for the correct money? Not an easy decision.
