Dunno about her age, but the pic is a tip for today. I've had a win and a second, so thought I'd have another crack.
Stick, Don, best of British with the Squire today. Fingers crossed for a good run and you all get home safe and sound....and hopefully in high spirits!!! Having a few quid e/w on him....he's going to bounce back and enjoy himself today! Good luck!
Dandeeleekie and Jan Smuts e/w today... along with the Squire.....sneaky e/w treble...along with singles!! Good luck all!!
None needed, He'll bounce back and we'll bounce our dosh back ....with interest. As long as you all make it home in good fettle....all is good.
Hard lines Stick must be very frustrating. Still you live to fight another day as Mick says. A good mate of mine dipped his toe in the ownership waters late last year and bought an Aiden O'Brien yearling reject for 21k. Had it with O'Meara and had secured a couple of places at the minimum trip in it's debut season. It was only being educated as it was a late foal and the trainer said he'd more than pay his way when stepped up to 7/8 furlongs. At Hamilton a few weeks ago he ran another creditable place but went wrong after the finishing line and had to be put down. Absolutely gutting for all concerned.
You may love the horse but don't let the heart rule the head, as a betting proposition those days are finished if the horse is not seemingly able to finish off his races like last year..I don't buy the not suited by the track (Eps/Bri), thr horse travelled normal up to a point today
I do agree with you up to a point. He has never been a horse that had a kick at the death so I feel we are doing him a disservice by never getting him to the front. In the past when he has won it has been down to him being in front from 2f-3f out. We are never getting him to the front so probably not giving him the best chance. There will of course come a point if he keeps getting beaten that his mark will give him an obvious chance. We have to give the horse the best chance of winning. For me that means 1m 2f on a straight forward galloping track (not Epsom/Brighton) and with the best jockey we can get on board.
Very disappointing from Squire. That was a hefty weight he was carrying stick. By the time you have his handicap down, maybe Havlin will have finished his suspension and be available
