Swansea City say Leroy Lita has agreed personal terms to join the Premier League newcomers from Middlesbrough on a three-year contract. The 26-year-old striker is expected in Swansea on Tuesday to have a medical, and could face Celtic a day later. Boro accepted a bid of £1.75m from the Swans for Lita on Wednesday. "Leroy is a proven goalscorer. It would be a fantastic deal for this club," said Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers, who worked with Lita at Reading. "Our supporters would love him because he is a player that is loved by the supporters of every team he plays for.'' - BBC

Would just like to know how you Smoggies feel about this one, are you happy to see him go, is Rodgers correct when he says all supporters love him, I seem to remember the Royals getting cheesed off with his antics, I must admit I am not that keen on this signing, but will support Rodgers on this, be pleased to get your feedback lads!............

Would have liked to keep Lita to be honest. Some are happy to see the back of him because he's constantly offside and likes a good moan but the loss of Lita will leave a massive hole in our squad. On his day Lita is too good for this division I believe, hence why he's off to play in the Premier League. He was enjoying his football under Mogga and was even hoping for a new deal a few weeks ago. Him or McDonald partnering Emnes scored plenty of goals towards the end of the season.

We need a replacement asap but for 1.75 million pounds and a player on his wages in the final year of his contract, it was too hard for us to turn down.

Seeing as though you're set to sign Routledge, surely that will end your pursuit of Starvin' Marvin? He's been given the number 9 shirt and Mogga is keen to extend his contract, Mowbray sees him as a vital part of our team and one to build around. I don't think he'll go unless silly money comes in, but are you prepared to match that silly money?

Btw, not many of us Smoggies on here for some reason. All stick to the fmttm and OneBoro forums. Few on the FootballForums too.

Good luck in the Premier League lads!

Cheers dude. I personally would take Marvin (not at the stupid prices quoted) but I don't think we will go fo him now Routledge is in. However, come January with only months left on his contract ....who knows we may be back sniffing! If he is worth that much to Gibson and Mowbray then he must surely be handed a contract extension - if not, don't blame us come January!

Good luck next year, your team started to come together towards the end of last season.

Mowbray has already opened contract discussions with Emnes over an extension so good news on our end. It's amazing what a loan spell can do for a player though! Emnes and Taylor both considered dead wood up here until their loan spells at Swansea and Watford.

To be honest, from a Swansea supporter's point of view I would have thought getting Emnes in would have been more ideal. Emnes may not score many but he brings out the best of a proper goalscorer alongside him. An Emnes/Graham partnership in the Premier League would have been very interesting. Scott McDonald's great goalscoring run towards the end of last season was greatly helped because of Emnes and McDonald would be the first to tell you that. Lita is not very good at partnering a goalscorer which showed when him and McDonald partnered each other. Woeful! So I'm not sure what system Swansea will be playing next season but if it's a 4-4-2 with Lita and Graham up front together, I can't see that working.

Saying that though, Lita is great backup to Graham and will even push him for a starting spot. One thing Lita doesn't lack is effort, he'll always try his hardest and on his day has the quality to go along with it. I do think he'll do well and I think Swansea will do the best out of the three promoted sides.

I always felt that Lita was full of energy, and gave it a go. I think he is a loss, but I would hope that somebody like Kink will fill his boots. Kink is one season older and wiser and more settled in England, it can make a difference, if you mix this up with the departure of confident characters like Lita, then Kink may shine. "Its all about the confidence!"

As you were saying Magooder, Emnes may not score many and was considered dead wood...... how much did you say you wanted for him again :emoticon-0105-wink:

I must admit I thought Emnes would shock a few people this season and score quite a few... but 5 goals in his first 3 games?! Can't believe it!

We'll only give you Emnes if we can swap leagues! :D
