Yeah, I could see the benefit of buying the Ox but I'm not concerned at all he's gone elsewhere. We seem to have our eyes on different targets.
I wouldn't have minded him as a CM for £20m. Someone that can carry the ball forward and provide something in opposition half. After watching him at weekend though, would he suit our midfield from a workrate perspective.
If the reports that he rejected 180k a week to stay, then he clearly wants to leave for game time and/or to win trophies. Not sure he'll play more at Chelsea, so maybe happy to be rotated and soak up trophies from their bench. Ozil, Sanchez and Ox all unwilling to extend contracts is worrying for Arsenal though...they'll need a big rebuilding job.
Keita deal was good business. We paid £3m now to secure him in July 2018, where we pay the remaining £48m. Paul Joyce has said Liverpool retain an interest in Van Dijk. Thomas Lemar is interesting, rumoured to be willing to pay £70m plus Origi. Ox apparenty prefers us over Chelsea but we haven't matched the £35m bid.
Wasn't there tall that ozil and Sanchez would only renew if Wenger stayed? Lacazette is good signibg but like us they needed new defenders (especially with Mustafi and Gabriel going/gone) and new midfielders because Ramsey and coq are decent but nothing special. Losing ozil and Sanches for free means they can't even use that money to reinvest heavily either.
I'm still trying to suss out how good we were and how **** Arsenal were yesterday We seemed yards ahead of them for virtually the whole game
Hard to tell. We've scored 4 in consecutive games now, but no matter how well we play there'll always be some who'll tell you it was because the opposition were crap.
