    Didn't Irvine score double figures from midfield last season in a struggling team? I'd say that probably qualifies him as a decent signing more than the goal against us

    Reading some of the Burton forums Irvine sounds like he has a good engine, covers the pitch in attack and defence and knows where the goal is. One said he wasn't quick and another said he wasn't the best passer.
    So hopefully a lesser version of a Brian Robson/ Roy Keane type midfielder, but with age on his side to improve.

    Understand your thinking on this, for some reason i think that Slutsky may have had enough of knob head jnr, and informed him "back me or sack me" think it was Dawson who said don't be fooled by Slutsky jovial character and that he has quite a temper on him, for some reason i think we'll see possibly 4/5 coming in, still not enough i agree.

    Nouha Dicko and Irvine both great additions could still do with another striker/centre half/RB or LB cover. Wingers - we're bound to lose Grosicki.
