Alarming stuff from an Arsenal perspective. For the first time I am concerned we might be starting to go down Blackburn Rovers/Leeds territory. That would be tragic. However bad Arsenal were though, Liverpool were every bit as a excellent (as has been the case for a while now). No excuses.

Gomez has a lot of room for improvement. TAA looks far ahead of him and probable ahead of Clyne too.

As good as we were, we are still just one injury away from being average. We needed signings this summer, shame they didn't happen

Tbh i agree that having a gobby gk is vital but he cant organise the offside line and talk moreno through everything.

Imo if you look back in time

1991 seaman and adams. Brilliant defense around them but really organised.

    Mid 1990s schmeichal and pallister

Late 90s you see arsemal coming again toures gob was under rated

And so forth. I just think we need those guys who see the danger before its happened and can organise rhose around them to cut it out.

We have a free game in the block of 4. Already on the 7/12 mark for 4th. 10/12 would be amazing start.

Hes a big lad though... id not say taa is miles ahead. Taa has a lot to learn at the back. They can only learn by playing.

Who knows... theres a sniff of winding the clock down for a lot of guys and your shape looked terrible today.

That extra xontract for wenger might have been an awful error but the thing is rheres dar too much quality to worry about wirse that a chelsea in 10th. You could go on a run and win next 10. Thats the thing.

Anyway.... nobody in top 6 can afford to lose ground so you need to reverse this fast.

Don't let a poor start get you down so much. Even if you're out of Champions League for a few seasons I don't think you're going to fall like that.

Liverpool and United have both had terrible spells and both seem to be starting the season well. Spurs were crap for how long before the recent resurgence in the last few years.

For one thing Leeds fell because of totally irresponsible financial spending. You can't accuse Arsenal of that... And Blackburn were never a club the size of Arsenal.

Arsenal have been financially irresponsible by letting half their first team run down their contracts

I #calledit that a poor start would see them refuse to sign new contracts and tank the club

At this point they need to sack Wenger and get anyone else in. It would ruin the season but save the club by showing enough #ambition to trick some of their players to sign, otherwise they're looking at £500m investment needed to challenge for top 4.

Nah you'll be fighting for top 4 with us - at worse 6th.

You guys always have a **** period and then recover when the pressure and expectation is off.

This is a bit early in the season for a wobble though I must admit.

You're probably right. I have zero expectation though. It's a nice feeling. Let the chips fall where they will. Whatever happens happens.

Shame we couldn't close the VvD and Keita deals. Even without Couthino, they could be the difference between challenging for top 4 and challenging for the title.

We still need a top top keeper though <doh>

Karius scares the **** out of me, tbh. We were lucky that Arsenal never tested him much. He did ok punching a few away, but that faffing about in his own area needs to be stamped out.

yup... theres 3 or 4 things i would say about the team where they can be exploited.

    1. winjnaldum seems to take an age to make a decision or release a pass. quick pressure on him will certainly choke off supply.

    2. there's a huge space the exploit behind the initial press, i have seen again today two cms going got the one man and completely opening up the midfield.

    3. the set piece is rather obvious. firmino is still centre of the box.

on the other hand if a lot of sides persist with this 3 at the back i think our play will absolutely tonk them. the whole point of 3 at back is to push on two attacking full backs.. but if you leave space behind then mane and salah will kill you. I can see cheslea and spurs deffo changing system to play us.
