I honestly can't believe the negativity on here today. That was a good point against a useful side who have had a great start to the season. Yes, there were some disappointing aspects: our failure to score despite some decent chances, and our midfielders not realising we actually have a striker making runs. The defence did OK against a physical attack, and Forster made one howler but was otherwise sound. JWP should have had a pen, the defender trod on his standing foot as he was cutting inside, and that late free kick by him was superb. Lemina was brilliant, both in defence and attack. All in all, another slightly frustrating outcome to a highly entertaining game!
Moan moan moan........
Getting more and more concerned at Gabbiadini's body language, the service he got today was really poor, especially from Redmund and Tadic. Don't know if he was carrying a knock but why take him off when he's the only one posing any kind of threat? Strikers thrive on getting service.
Can someone please give Bertrand a kick up the backside please. Last two games he's been very poor, and the chance he had to score at the death he bottled.
@saintsfcfan why should we be winning his game? I did ask earlier, as I am genuinely interested to know why you think we should be winning this fixture.
That is what I like about Gabbiadini his movement is great. I think we have added players that will make us better but I understand why people are frustrated that we haven't bolstered our attacking midfield, I guess it is hard to find the right player.
Wasn't it nice in the lower leagues when we went into every game fully confident that we would win #sigh. The PL is literally and figuratively a different league. I am generally positive on every day...except Matchday....so now I have the international break to be happy.
He works so hard....as he has to go looking for the ball. He must dream of the service Pelle got. I'd like to see him start with another striker....give the defence something to worry about.

I just feel that, whilst they are somewhat of an unknown quantity, with our experience in the league as well players we possess, we should have more quality on the pitch to overcome them. I know a great man said hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard and I think there was a little case of that today. Ok maybe a change of stance to that we should have threatened a bit more than we did today. No team has a god-given right to win a game, I understand that, but I thought we were a bit sloppy at time so today and with Huddersfield potential inexperience that we could capitalise by having more attacks than we did.
I consider ourselves to be in the same bracket maybe slightly better than Stoke, West Ham, Leicester, Bournemouth and West Brom. Seven teams definitely better than us and eight worse. To kick on we need to unearth an absolute gem like Mane; we have unearthed many, however it is a challenge to keep finding them. I am positive about Lemina though and I think so far this summer we have strengthened for the first time in a few years.
I'd definately taken an unbeaten start after 3 games in the league with yet another new manager trying to establish his best team, formation etc. Now is not the time to make rash judgements, just need to sit tight and watch things evolve. One thing I will say is that I don't see a marked difference to our style of play than last season yet, though I was one of the fans who thought that we were making progress under Puel. The defence is looking solid, which is a good thing and i'm sure the attacking side of our game will improve over time, getting results without being at our best yet augers well for the rest of the season.
