For me that was watching football at its best, two sides going toe to toe giving it everything.

Well pleased with that performance, long may it continue.

Watched the 1st half. I have heard John Terry continued handling the ball after the break.

Hes in for a long hard season along with his team mates.

Sat in my office watching the game live on ESPN3. Great way to be non-productive on a Friday afternoon!

Terry is a dirtbag. Got away with 3 clear handballs.

Villa's goal was lucky....Fielding not really at fault as it was a wicked deflection. Overall a draw was probably fair. We didn't create too much.

Diedhou (Dave) is not showing much for me.. no anticipation, poor movement, cant hold the ball up and doesn't win much in the air and doesn't look like he has a goal in him.

£5.5m.. glad it wasn't my dough.

Looks like a fish out of water at times. Needs to improve and learn fast.

Better game than he did against Millwall but hardly looked a Million pound striker let alone what we did pay. Early days, but we are going to struggle for firepower unless he picks up real quick

Villa for all their money looked all at sea, especially the first half hour.
Thank goodness for the Boltons, Burtons, and Millwalls of this world.
    We'd be fu**ed without them.

I think I'd be ok to bet that City will finish 18th or better (i.e. the three teams you've mentioned & three others that aren't apparently useless) - I'm far from loaded, but will stake a tenner on it with you if you're game & want to back up your words.

I find it funny that Millwall are worthy of your disdain yet humped Norwich 4-0 & Barnsley (not in your list admittedly, but oft written off) beat relegated Sunderland 3-0. If fans of other clubs wrote us off in the same way you have, I reckon you'd consider them arrogant & condescending. I for one don't think any club will be cut adrift in the same manner as Rotherham last year.(Burton maybe most at risk).

Todays results just show how up and down this league is. I said it before and I'll say it again, I don't think there will be many points splitting 10-18th position come May.

I think it's too early to predict with assurance. Some of the teams haven't settled yet and could find form.
We need to start turning these draws into wins - it's better to win one then lose one than to draw them all.

I'm really not sure how things are going to pan out.
Burton (at their place) can be a handful for a lot of teams, and Millwall put 4 past Norwich yesterday. I hope we're not going to turn into the draw specialists again.
We are going to need wins to stay clear of trouble.

So after Johnson spending hitherto umpteen millions in 3 windows we have Nick willing to risk a tenner that we'll finish better than 18th. Well done Steve, you're successfully managing expectations.

Ps - How long before we send reinforcements to Whaddon Road ?

there is a secret in being a poor team likely considered relegation fodder and written off...like Burton!
a couple seasons ago I did a game analysis of all the teams ...who they played in what position and where their points came from...
Sheff wed until the last 10 or so games had taken hardly any points from teams in top 6 but almost all points from bottom 10 or so teams and lions share from teams 9th to 14th.... Burton last season was able to neutralise most of the bottom teams ( 12 ) and gained a extra points by beating top teams a few times.
this season we need to take 60-70% of our points from teams in bottom 12 with closer to 90% of any team in bottom 4....

Did you intentionally sidestep the point I was making, or did you just not understand it? Why don't you make yourself clear and tell everyone who the teams in this division are that are so s**t we should be grateful for to avoid being 'f**ked'?

You make out like I have low expectations, but I was just calling you out for what you were saying. Just tell us where do you think City will finish & where do you think they ought to finish based on the millions spent (we can ignore comparisons to the amounts spent by other clubs & what City have recouped in sales for now)? Pretty straightforward questions so if you can give a straightforward reply that'd be great.

Blimey NickH, if you get a straight forward answer, to a straight forward question from Rp it will be a first, best of luck mate.

Hiding behind song words probably won't get you the answers you wanted, but then again I still haven't found what I'm looking for.

We could probably go on for ever Nick but I could make you scared if you want me to. If you get that one Nick I will suggest you as our next manger to Lansdown.
