Which is why Southampton will get £60m for him rather than nothing If Southampton prefer their players running down their contracts fair enough but not a winning strategy IMO
LIVERPOOL ECHO Liverpool are considering making a move for Bayern Munich forward Renato Sanches, say reports in Germany. Unsettled Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho may go public with his wish to join Barcelona, with the player weighing up whether to speak about his unhappiness at being denied the chance to move to the Nou Camp, according to the Catalan press. Everton will battle with Newcastle United for the signature of Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet, say reports in the British media.
If we don't, or can't, sell Sakho I think it's just unreasonably obstinate for Klopp to refuse to use a player who could definitely improve our central defence just because of a petty grudge I understand he's pissed him off, and quite a few fans, but often the best thing in sport is having a very short memory However on that subject ... **** Coutinho hope he never plays for us again the little **** !!
So the question is..........would we be happy if that happened and Sakho resumed the LCB spot over Lovren? I wouldn't mind that because we would have a better defence but can't see it happening really
BREAKING NEWS After weeks of negotiations Barcelona have reached a deal for Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund, according to Sky Sources. Club President Josep Maria Bartomeu is in Monaco for today’s Champions League draw where we understand talks have concluded on a five-year contract. We understand the transfer could be worth as much as £110million. Barcelona are unlikely to confirm the deal until it is signed, but we are told the move is agreed in principle. http://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre
I'd find it hard to forgive the twat celebrating Crystal Place scoring against us last season tbh. Very good defender though, but Klopp clearly isn't a push over - which is a good thing imo.
He will go ,we all know that , but not in this transfer window . F**K him . I am pretty sure I have read comments on here where people are saying clubs should make a stand , player power is mad .
VVD made a mistake of signing the contract extension when he knows that it is unlikely to honour it, though the same thing with our Coutinho.
Dead right Jasper, what the hell are we going to do with £60m just sitting in the bank? (too late to do much with it in this window), better for us to keep him to change the perception of our club just giving in to unreasonable and unprofessional players and just getting rolled over by bigger clubs, we don't need to sell so why let a team who we will be playing against get stronger?. He will go in the future of course, but we have a great chance of making an example of him without losing out in the long run.
The creation of the PL has a lot to answer for imo. It took football away from it's 'working class' origins and support bases and handed it to the entertainment industry.
If you're talking about the Liverpool board on here, we've got mixed feelings i.e. there's no consensus at all. Some want Coutinho gone, some don't. Some think FSG should hold firm on principle, some say the only principle is get rid of a player who doesn't want to be here - it's take you pick really The difference between our 2 clubs, with no disrespect intended, is that you are a selling club, we aren't. I know every club is essentially a selling club, it's how the game works but we are trying to restore our status as a top club that can keep it's top players. When Torres left, he was well on the wane. Suarez on the other hand wasn't. I can't think of any other of our 'star' players we've let go.
I agree . But the way he or his agent have gone about this is poor . Hopefully we can all.agree on this .
btw - if Southampton have had no actual bids for VVD, where does the - we're showing clubs we're not to be messed with - stance come from? Have you 'kept hold' of a player? We've kept hold of Moreno as well dontcha know
He hasn't conducted himself well at all has he. No bids = player stays put. Agent loses out on his big pay day - yippeee
Rafinha won't join Liverpool 16:16: Rafinha has agreed to leave Barcelona - but he isn’t heading to Liverpool. Calciomercato claim Liverpool, as well as Arsenal, want to sign Rafinha. But reports in Italy claim the player has agreed in principle to move to AC Milan. Milan now have to work with Barcelona over a fee for the player.
