Aberdeen knocked back Denis Law because he had specs and was too skinny. He then joined Huddersfield from school. Doooh.
Bonus Fact #5 Aston Martin got the ‘DB’ name from David Brown, an entrepreneur from Huddersfield, bought Aston Martin and Lagonda in the 1940’s. The DB range is named in his honour
am pretty gutted to have lost my match thread status to be honest. You may as well have me notes that I put together befroe the Wolves game... I think I temted fate by doing these.
Bonus fact #7 David Brown made his money making tractors, notably the VAK1 during the Second World War.
Bonus Fact #8 David Brown shares the same surname as Gordon Brown the ex Prime Minister. Being a Scot he lives nearer to Huddersfield than most Saints fans.
One of my all time favourite away trips was to Huddersfield for our first away game in League 1 following relegation. Went up there full of confidence and we got taken apart and were lucky to only lose 3-1. Why a favourite trip, you may ask? Because we were actually in a real world of football. The greeting from the Terrier's fans was brilliant and the whole situation about actually having a team to support was second to none. I have had a soft spot for them ever since, even during the fantastic chase for promotion under Nigel Adkins. I would love to be going again this weekend, cannot make it so hope they stay up so I can make the trip next year (obviously if we stay up too ! ! lol) Tough one to call.

I wear a David Brown baseball cap to St Marys. It is covered in a variety of Saints pin badges. It is like wearing a hedgehog!
I know that Huddersfield are playing well and we're......not. BUT, if we can't win here then we might as well write off the season. Ok, so maybe not quite that dramatic but Huddersfield must surely still be in the mix for relegation. If we're all doom and gloom for this one, I can't see many easier away games on the fixture list.
Depends what you mean by write off the season tbh. I think we will be in the mix of clubs from 8th-14th. Never really looking like challenging for Europa and never really looking threatened by relegation. One cup down and one to go in Jan is the only thing that could make this season exciting for me.
