That isn't what Barmby said in the radio interview before being sacked. He said he had been offered the money to buy Billy Sharp but turned it down as it would break the wage structure they had in place. The Allams wanted promotion and were prepared to pay for it. Barmby stood in their way and was sacked. Bruce had no such problem spending their money.

Or what his Bessie mate said on here repeatedly.

Nick was a rabbit in the headlights. He fancied management but didn't have the nous for it. He thought he did but he didn't. He's a cold character with few friends in football, it served him well as a player. But not in management.

That's bollocks. No manager would ever prefer to have a squad of 13/14 players than sign some good ones. He wanted certain players and wasn't allowed to sign them. He had deals lined up for Ben Marshall who went to Leicester instead, Adam Hammill who also went somewhere else instead (can't remember where) and Tomlin who was at Peterborough at the time. The Allams wouldn't let him sign the players he wanted. I don't believe for a second they really would have signed Billy Sharp, but that is indeed what they told him. Probably because they knew he didn't want him.

I thought I said he was told he could sign Billy Sharp and he refused. So its not bollocks is it?

"The Allams wanted promotion and were prepared to pay for it. Barmby stood in their way and was sacked. Bruce had no such problem spending their money."

That was bollocks. The Allams wanted to do it on the cheap like everything else. Bruce convinced them it needed some players buying. Thankfully they listened to him unlike either of his predecessors.

Pearson got out of the circus as quickly as possible. Pearson would have been backed but he would have followed what he did at Leicester, built a team that could last years. He started that here but escaped back to Leicester City. The Allams wanted instant success, Barmby didn't want to break the wage structure of the club and would have bought players to fit the structure. Bruce had no such problems and the wage bill went up significantly after his appointment.

Some of this was touched on in the minutes you've read.

I believe the Allams got a manager that would give them what they wanted rather than Bruce, after his appointment, persuading them to put millions into the club to get promotion.

Complete bollocks, Barmby wasn't allowed to buy a single one of his targets.

Regardless of whether people though Nick was up to the job, or not, he was not backed and in the end was absolutely hung out to dry.

I have no idea what minutes you're on about.

Bruce joined the club on the condition that he was backed. Not a retrospective thing. Pearson had the exact same problem as Barmby the previous summer. He had to make do with a few loans and some free signings like McKenna and Adebola which everyone sneered at, but as the club stated that summer there simply wasn't a transfer budget.

Bollocks. You and premier tiger repeatedly stated he was happy with his squad.
He had no ****ing idea what to do. He could barely make a substitution.
Pearson bought McLean and fryatt 6 months earlier. One was a good signing the other was a complete **** up .the smallest big man up front I've ever seen. He also had Simpson who he never used and neither did Barmby, yet Bruce used him and got a tune out of him.

The way them Allams forced nick, who's always been a pliable character, to say all this breaks my heart.

HULL CITY: I don't need to splash cash in transfer window - Barmby

HULL City boss Nick Barmby has defended his decision not to spend in the January transfer market – insisting he already boasts a squad capable of winning promotion.

Despite City owner Assem Allam pledging funds for team strengthening this month, the club's only business has so far come in the loan market.

Nick Barmby

Happy with his squad: Nick Barmby

Striker Josh King joined goalkeepers Vito Mannone and Trevor Carson at the KC Stadium this week, and the loan trio look set to be the only new arrivals before the window shuts in 11 days.

Barmby believes the minimal alterations in January reflect a belief in his promotion-chasing squad and the City boss insists he will not "spend for the sake of spending".

"Is there anyone available to come in who's miles better than the lads we've got?" said Barmby, ahead of City's trip to Reading tomorrow.

"I see my players every day and I'm more than happy with the squad we've got. I'm definitely not going to be a manager who dives in to get any old name.

"I'm not going to go out and spend for the sake of spending because that would be a foolish thing to do. We've seen it in the past and I'm not prepared to do it."

Barmby's first transfer window as a manager appears destined to be a quiet one as he keeps faith in a crop inherited from predecessor Nigel Pearson in November.

The City boss has made enquiries over Doncaster striker Billy Sharp and Wolves winger Adam Hammill this month but Barmby says his business looks to be done.

"Unless we were to get an injury to a key player, I can't see us bringing in any more new players," added Barmby. "This squad, if they keep listening and learning, and passing the ball with a good tempo and purpose, can cause a lot of problems in this division.

"I want to work with these players and I want them to get better for themselves and as a group.

"We tend to look at other players away from the club and think 'he's a good player or he's a good player' but what about the players we've got?

"We've got a great crop of players here and we shouldn't forget that."

A reluctance to do more business stems in part from City keeping their promotion-chasing squad intact.

Despite two bids from Leicester for winger Cameron Stewart, the Tigers' board have been true to their word that no stars would be off-loaded this month.

Barmby has been encouraged by such a stance but would not be surprised to see more approaches in the closing days of January.

"I guess when it's the last week of the window we'll see it heat up," added Barmby. "I'm sure clubs may yet make bids for some of our players but I've got assurances that we won't be selling players we don't want to.

"It wouldn't surprise me to see bids coming in because when it's down to the last couple of days and other targets have fallen through, they might move on to others. That's when we'd have to be strong. They'd be barking up the wrong tree."

I'm well aware of what he said in public, but in reality there was a list of players he absolutely did want to sign and he wasn't allowed to sign any of them.

That's an absolutely cast iron fact and will remain one, whatever old articles and comments you find.

Is it **** lying twat.
Hers premier tiger nicks best mate from January 2012

Rather than slating the guy who has saved our club from financial ruin, have you thought that maybe the reason we aren't going to spend millions in this transfer window because the manager, NB is happy with the squad and players we already have and doesn't want to?

I know for a fact we haven't even tried to sign any permanent players apart from Hammill and an enquiry to Burnley for Jay Rodriguez, not because the Allams won't give NB the cash, but because he is very happy with our squad and doesn't think we need to spend millions unless the absolute right player is available .

The attitude of our fans amazes me at times.

Provide cast iron evidence. Personally, I don't give a toss what anyone say's in private if in public they say something else.If Nick Barmby was saying in private that he had a list of players he wanted to sign but couldn't and then was saying in public that he was happy with his squad and did not want any additions, how can anyone trust anything at all said by him?

Here's another from premier tiger nicks bezzie mate

You quite clearly don't know NB very well at all, and I know he will do what he thinks is best for Hull City. If you spent just 5 minutes talking to him you will know he is genuinely excited and happy about the squad we have, and has bags of belief and confidence in their ability to get us promoted this season.

There is no certainties that spending big money will get us promoted. If the right player becomes available then he will look to sign them, but he isn't going to just spend money for the sake of it.

He has been assured there is money if he wants it.
