    LANSKY 9/1 York 2:25
Steps up in class after winning a Windsor maiden only nine days ago.
I made a point of taking my mates to the paddock to show them what three hundred grand looked like and he didnt let me down. He looked a proper animal while at the same time giving the impression that he would come on for the run. He was rather coltish in the preliminaries and pretty hot going to post.
In the race however he was pretty professional and beat a nice enough horse of Mr Candys a tad cosily.
I am sure he will improve bundles for the run and I can see him managing the step up in grade quite nicely. The yard continue to be in banging form and this fella can strike again before going on to even better things.

After yesterday's disappointment (backed down to joint-favourite, the filly never ever got into it at Yarmouth), this is one to avoid of course!

    16:15 York - Euchen Glen e/w

(Hopefully Jim Goldie's decent stayer will put in a good performance in this marathon. Certainly bred to stay, being by Authorized. No idea what the going will eventually turn out to be after reading Floridaspearl's above comments - from G/F to what - possibly good ground at best?).

Good wishes to everyone for a successful York meeting! Follow Stick is the best advice, surely? :emoticon-0100-smile

Despite Alex Hammond tipping Barney Roy, I'm having a little dabble on ITV priceboost through skybet

Cracksman + Barney Roy double 7/1

Will be interesting to see with no obvious front runners in the field that perhaps Heffernan and Cliffs of Moher, making the running and looking to steal the race from the front. There's a big race win in him this season I'm sure, will it be today?

Rain just started in York, and talk of epic torrential rain 10 miles down the road from the course. Non runners aplenty if this gets into the ground and could be a shambles

Small fields might see most of them stand their ground in the Juddmonte and Great Voltigeur just for the prize money. Churchill and Mirage Dancer probably the two I could see coming out

Isn't shutter speed the one that beat Enable couple runs back?

Regardless, heart rules head in this race with my fav horse running, COME ON MY DREAM BOAT YOU CAN DO IT BOY!!!! Might be 40/1 but as the old saying goes a horse don't know it's odds and it's only ran at York once before and won at 33/1 anyway.

Good word for 1 55 York - Tithonus e/w @ 20/1 too, not huge confidence but just been buzzing around, Hogan is quietly very confident.

Tough big race though but will hopefully at least get a place

Aye 2 1/2 lengths, was going to have some on it if the ground stayed good to firm as it was that day but the rain has put me off.

With the soft ground at York, it is a not bet; hopefully it will dry out before Saturday or it is a complete write off.

Dee Ex Bee looked like a class act in the making on debut at Goodwood, so I do see him stepping up into pattern company successfully today; however, the price is a joke now that the rain has come.

It was hardly a large field in the Eclipse but Cliffs Of Moher certainly managed to find trouble and punters seem to have immediately written him off. Ryan Moore has decided to stick with a Classic winner but it would not be the first time that he has picked the wrong one in just the last week alone. In the pre-parade ring at Sandown, Aidan O’Brien treated those present to a master-class in how to prepare a horse but Francesca and her ITV camera crew turned up too late and had to watch while Martyn Meade struggled with a recalcitrant Eminent. The Ballydoyle inmate looked really good at that point but he got quite agitated by the parade and of course the race went all wrong. I would give him another chance today but will not be betting as I expect Churchill to be withdrawn and it is anybody’s guess about tactics then – will Dettori try to make all on Shutter Speed?

16,000g for Wells Farhh Go sounds a snip now. The pedigree is good though. This colt is from the family of Oaks winner Ouija Board and Teleprompter (a full-brother to Ouija Board's dam).
So Lord Derby breeding, but 30 or so years ago the Highclere Stud got its mits onto this family. But the dam and granddam of Wells Farhh Go are shown as owned by Hamdan so the Herberts lost their hold.

WFG should easily stay 10f, if not further. Will Godolphin snap him up?

Think CHURCHILL wins the Juddmonte, simply looks to me the best horse in it. Backed him at 10/3 this morning, think it's a very fair price especially if you can forgive one bad run. Not overly convinced Barney Roy just scrapping home against the Ballydoyle pacemaker at Ascot sets the bar that high looking at how Churchills beats that horse so often and the Eclipse had a bit of scrimmaging in it so slightly cautious of that form. Would have been very confident on the selection without the rain but I do think he'll stay just fine, as Winter did at Goodwood with similar question marks. Cliffs of Moher looks the danger, he's the one horse in the field really wanted this rain, can see him trying to make all and could be tough enough to cut back should the Heff judge his fractions right.
