Two/ three years ago he was touted as the best header of a football in England. If he is our guy to provide knock downs and chip in with a few goals might not be a bad signing. But not if we are going to go long ball.
His goals per minute ratio in the championship is pretty good. Fell out of favour for villa. Orta obviously liked him enough to sign him once so it's not a surprising link. Not sure why boro would let him go as he's been getting game time for them but hey.

They have to change their position when the facts change. I guess nobody ever expected a club to actually meet our valuation of him, and nobody expected him to actually want to leave. But there you are. Silly little clubs in the Premier League throwing their money about like it's pocket change. You'd have to be dumb to pay £15+ for Chris Wood, someone who has so far struggled every time he's tried to make it in the Premier League. I guess he has more experience now and he's developed his game a bit more but there are still no guarantees. That team looks pretty strong. I'm liking how strong our second team looks this season, far better than last season! Shaughnessy looks really strong, confident and his positioning seems to be top notch. Exciting prospect for our future defence. Just shows how much strength we have in depth when we can go into the mickey mouse cup with a second string thats more than strong enough to sweep away weak opposition.
So Wood & Bridcutt gone, that with CT money, plus the savings on both their wages, should mean we can hopefully get in a quality forward but who's available? And who is next following them out. I expect Doukara will be gone (I for one won't miss him) and what is happening with big Dave?
