OK, just been tipped the wink, got a mate who works for the Trading Standards, who are out to nail these guys, they are policing the local markets, and so have driven these guys into the local pubs and clubs around Cardiff and S.E Wales, they are selling rip off CCFC shirts, and training tops, with the new Malaysia logo, kids shirts and training tops start at £7 depending on size apparently, adults training tops and shirts range from £15 to £25, these products are crap, and maybe have one or two wears in them, and fall apart after one wash, they appear to be reasonably good on first sight, but are of poor quality. The stuff is smuggled into Europe from sweat shops in South and Cental America, and being brought in by Eastern European gangs, they are using good looking young girls to charm people into buying them, the mind set being that if the average football fan is getting an eyeful of cleavage, and or thigh, then he will not be too concerned on checking the quality (well they probably got that bit about right ) The Indian and the Far Eastern rip off sweat shops have more or less been closed down after concerted efforts from the authorities, but as my mate says this is a multi-million pound business, and there will always be someone prepared to step into the void. Not only is the money not going into the club, but you are buying crap, a concerted effort to stop this trade is now being launched to kill this trade off, apparently these gangs have targeted Manchester, Liverpool, London, Newcastle, Glasgow, Cardiff and Birmingham for their activities, but the fear is that the Eastern European gangs are so well organised that unless the authorities can stamp this out.....well it is going to spread further and further, Spanish and French officials have reportedly seized container loads of Barca, Real Madrid and Paris SG rip off tops in the last couple of weeks.........If we as fans don't buy this stuff, then the market will die out, don't get me wrong I like a "bargain" as much as the next guy, but I also don't like being ripped off. If H bomb or one of the techno-wizards picks this up, can they post it for all to see, we might have our differences, but I hate to see a football fan of any persuasion ripped off
We're ok we're not on the list lol...by the way proph can you do some invetigative work on the cleavage and thigh part of the thread
Why would anyone in the Far East buy a Cardiff shirt? Just because you're Malaysian owned and wear the name of their country on the front? Laughable. ****ey, you underestimate the power of the Prem. It may be that the Championship is more exciting, last night proved that didn't it, but the Prem is the one that's televised. Sorry and all that. You do have a point about the Swans though. It'll be our second season in the Prem next year that will see the shirt sales really take off. Every little kid in streets from Beijing to Butan will want to be associated with a great team that plays such attractive, flowing football. Trust me, most of them won't even know who you are.
I think you need re-read the post. Proph said that these shirts were being sold in South Wales not Malaysia. Attractive and flowing football? Yeah, it's easy on the eye but VERY boring. Need to a lot better against Wigan than against Man City to stand a chance of staying up...even then, Swansea will never sell shirts abroad because to do that you need to have solid links or be in the Champs League regularly...things that are a long way off for the Swans. We're half way there!
we might not have the support you have, might be a small city, council owned ground, cant beat man city ect ect ect. BUT WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE.
mjw - pay no attention to ****bag Aussie. He's just a pompous pillock who lives in a Marina and probably drives one as well.
We don't think we have a premier league spot! What a stupid thing to say! We get it if we earn it. Watch out Brighton don't take your premier league spot is more apt.
