The Blues saw off one of League One’s pace-setters Fleetwood Town with an impressive away victory courtesy of goals from Shaun Miller and Tom Miller and their reward is a home tie against the Black Cats. Keith Curle: “This is a great tie. We want as many people as possible to come and see us take on what is one of the biggest and best supported clubs in the country. “The fans have done their bit for us already this season and there’s no doubt we’ll need them again in this one. We want Sunderland to come here and face a club that is united, together and pushing each other on to get to the next round. “We’re hoping to see the place packed, as it was for the Everton game, and with the kind of atmosphere we created in our play-off games. Our fans want success and this is a chance for us to put ourselves up against a great club. I want to make sure we all enjoy the occasion, but also do it properly as we look to progress in what has been a very good competition for us.” Simon Grayson: "Bryan Oviedo will start against Carlisle on Tuesday,” said the manager. “Brendan [Galloway] has done okay for us – he is only 21 and – and there will be situations where good players can hurt you. Not just him, but others too.” "He picked up a knock in the game [against Leeds United] and isn't available against Carlisle. "We picked up a couple of knocks but Brendan is the only player definitely out. "One or two have reported in with illness as well which is not helpful, but whichever team we put out we want to win the game." Team Lineup Thanks @DAPARKERSAFC My two pence News to me that we are Championship promotion favourites for this season, (that's what it says on Carlisle's web site) I do think we should win this one though. Time for a few changes to the lineup. I'm going for another 1-0 win for the lads.
Can't see us losing, whatever team we put out. In spite of yesterday's result, there's a different feel about the squad and I see us getting the win. Can't remember the last time I came anywhere close to saying that!
Really wish I could go to Carlisle, it's been a while and it's always lively. I remember the last night match when there were fights before and after the game. Carlisle din't come out of it too well so, even after all this time, might be after some revenge. Take care if you're going.
Smug, As I live over in Cumbria I'm going with a party of six including my daughter and two grand children. Were sitting in the home end as couldn't get tickets for away end, hope your warning is I'll founded but I'll sit on my hands when we score just in case.
I hope I'm totally wrong and things have improved. I reckon you'll be fine, in the ground, but the pubs might be a different matter. Have a great time mate, I'm really jealous.
My son is having a dodge. I warned him they could get a bit handy over there and his answer was bring it on. Bloody youth. Thought I had raised him a bit better than that. Still I got into a few scrapes in my youth at away matches.
Worst place to park is the Rugby ground as the walk thru the alleyway can be a wee bit naughty at times 'Running the gauntlet' as we used to call it !!! Would be deffo going however I'm off to Portugal in the morning
all day long I've been thinking it's the 22nd! Thanks for pointing out that it's actually the 21st today
Updated the op with real quotes from Grayson. Oviedo will replace Galloway, plus a few other changes.
