Loads to do today but, before I go, this might amuse you if you hadn't heard of it before.

When we lived in France I bought Mrs Smug a lovely red UK registered T-roof MR2 for her birthday.

She had her sister down so they went off to Cannes shopping ..... I'd craftily bought her a car with a tiny boot ;)

When they came back she said she loved the car but she'd noticed a few people laughing at it.

We eventually worked out what it was, as I'm sure you have based on your username <laugh>

So do we Smug. It was when the Weirdsiders could give us a game AND when their fans would turn up en masse to cheer them on.

Heyho times change. But e still turn up, take our full allocation, & still support our side win, lose or draw

Over 31000 there. Its a big ground, no idea when the pic was taken but perhaps they should fill the kower tier before selling the upper.

Too early to tell for sure but my guess is Ekuban's injury will be ligament damage meaning at least a couple of months out.

Watching from the sofa I thought he started out like a 2 year old colt on his first appearance at a racecourse. Ran very green with lots of effort but using energy ineffectually. By the second half the penny seemed to have dropped and he started to look more of a prospect and he certainly has a turn of foot which means he could turn out to be quite useful.

It was a massive ask for him physically to come in for such an intense match and play the loan striker role. I'm sure TC had planned to blood him in short 15/20 minute spurts over the coming months but unfortunately that plan went out of the window and he was thrown in the deep end.

Hernandez took a knock to the hip in a collision with O'Kane and you could see immediately that he was struggling. It's possible he might be fit for next week but probably more likely he'll miss out and then have the international break to recover. He'll be a big miss as he's definitely improved this season, his workrate and ball retention have been much better. He and Saiz have a really good understanding between them and seem to inspire each other to play well.

Interesting week ahead with Green, Shaunessy, Borthwick Jackson, Bridcutt, Vieria, Gomes, Klich, Sacko and Doukara all almost certain to start on Tuesday.

Somehow we're going to have to cobble a defence/team out of the those. Just hope Doukara doesn't get injured otherwise we'll be down to zero fit strikers at the club.

Anyone else remember Roker Park and the sloping corner, the ball would just run like a bent billiard table <laugh> legend had it that the roar of the crowd pulled the ball towards goal, Roker Roar, what a load a of bollox, bent pitch

Hernandez looks a bit too wimpy for me, slight knock and he is off unwilling to battle through. I'm hoping whoever takes his starting place makes it impossible for him to get back into the team.

Klich will come in, and apparently he's a bit of a unit. So Hernandez/Saiz supply the skill, & Klich/others provide the muscle. All good in midfield, but the attack is now a problem. Let's hope TC et all have been working behind the scenes to cover Wood's loss and Ekuban's injury

Guess those knocks are bit harder to shake off as you get older.

I'm a bit sore from all those shuttle runs to the fridge so I know what I'm talking about.
