I don't really agree with the reality check, people getting carried away comments etc. Nobody expected us to go all season unbeaten and it was perfectly reasonable to think we might win that match.
Lost the battle but seem to have won the war of attrition. My MOTM goes to the fan in the Sunderland jersey, behind the goal, say 12 rows up, who so demonstratively admonished N'Dong for trying (to late) to catch a backpedalling goalie rather than playing the ball out wide!
No arguments here, best team won. Probably good our limitations have been shown as our fan base was getting a bit carried away. Got the points I wanted from this run of games. Most of these lads have played 5 games in 16 days. They've shown fire and heart and ran themselves into the ground. that's all I wanted. Now we've got a spine and we've got spirit, even if we are weak in areas. Good thing to take into the international break with what's needed blatantly in the face of Short and Bain. Been a long time since I've said something like this. Take a well earned rest lads. You must be shattered. Proud of yas
They've played 5 games in 16 days and ran through wall for us. Twat. Happy clappers. Look at his post and look at mine and don't you ****ing dare have a go at me for being negative ever again!
Galloway is a weak link, need Oviedo back asap or another left back on the books, that's where we are being hurt
At the risk of being contreversial Cattermole looks shot, his game was his energy but he's paggered. Get rid.
Can't argue with the result, better team won today. Agree with bri, lads have worked bloody hard and put the effort in the last few games. Still the cnuts let me down on my prediction
My post wasn't meant to derogatory to the team. They worked hard to last minute . But the game highlighted deficiencies that can be corrected inside 2 weeks. I'm still positive about the season.
It's his first run of games in nearly two years. Our captain stands by us, I'll stand by him and give him chance to shift the rust. He's a class above this league. That much is evident even if his fitness isn't there yet. But he's put himself through a lot, he's done 4 in 16 days coming back a from an injury which was massively effecting his career. I think he'll get up to speed myself.
Beaten by a better side and few complaints. Grabban again a positive, even if he didn't have much joy he's a busy lad and he's very decent. We probably needed a loss and a wake up call so I'm not gonna start getting pissy about it. We need Oviedo back and we absolutely need another CB. Kone was decent again but still does that weird use his strength and try and turn thing that will get him caught out. We move on.
A defeat was expected in our opening 4 or 5 games I think we've done ok and have injured players to come back and also at least two additions. The positivity in the teram is immense considering our abject gutless displays last season. Any way I've switched on "beat surrender" on darkside radio, way to recover the mind imo while I wash up as grandaughter staying over tonight.
No panic. It's still a better return after 4 games than we sometimes were fearing before season start
Ive been to all 4 Bri and the lads shot after 60 mins, hope you're right but we can't carry passengers, he's like a boxer who's over the hill. He's had since April to get match fit.
That did occur to me after posting that I should have said I'm not on much social media so was speaking more for myself than the rabid beasts of twitter.
Spot on, it's madness to say get rid because he was tired today. As you say he's done 4 in 16 after coming back from major surgery, he did well to get this far without needing a break. He's been class this season, nearly got a goal today even if not for a good save.
