Been away from the forums awhile. But after watching the game via the web today, I'm breaking my silence. And all I can say is I'm worried, this club that we all care about is in trouble. The owners who saved it, seem intent on destroying it, piece by piece. I've heard the rumour of the takeover by Americans? But with 12 days left in the transfer window... will our beloved owners get it done in time for new owners to come in and give Slutsky money to buy players, or will they mess around and sell more players before the window, leaving us without players and possibly without a Manager. When I think of all the bad we've been through, I can't help think this is the worst time for us at the moment. But whatever the case I'm still a Hull City fan, will always be a City fan no matter what. And regardless of the off the field nonsense we need to back the players whenever there is a game. UTT
To be honest, as long as the Allams are sensible with their asking price, then paying off the loan to Allamhouse is preferable to spending £50m and not getting promoted (in terms of dark days). Obviously the big selling points for the club at the moment are parachute payments and (limited numbers of) quality players. If the Allams pocket the parachute payments and sell off the quality, why would anyone buy us? We don't even own a ground that can be stripped. Clubs are only profitable at premier league level (and then only with decent running). To get there, a new owner has to get lucky or speculate (as the Allams did). Rinse and repeat (albeit with less vindictiveness towards the supporters).
Well Israel, but not living in Jerusalem, but good guess. I used to post regularly... not sure why I stopped... but here I am
Depends how far the Allam debt gets paid down. There's a decent wedge of money from last season I believe that's unaccounted for, unless it just paid the wages and loan fees of all the players we borrowed. At the point of sale, the club may be a carcass, but could represent a low outlay up front purchase with an almost blank tablet to craft their own ideas. We're a club with potential, the only club in a city with an enormous catchment area to be tapped into, 'nice' modern stadium (albeit not belonging to us), a good quality youth academy, I think the SMC comes with potential for the development done the right way too. Not to mention the instant hero status that would be granted upon liberating us from that pair of **** faces. I can't see why we wouldn't be an attractive proposition to anyone looking to get involved in English football, so long as the price isn't too high.
