Well back from a week away with the family consisting of a couple days at Alton towers in the new hotel @ £350 a night and a couple of nights away in the new forest need some winners <laugh>

    3.30 Curragh- REKINDLING- 7/2

Great way to start with A filthy ew bet on him tomorrow however I can see him winning tomorrow OOSG has only won once in his last 6 runs. Always goes off a short price but my pick is getting the a lot talked about weight allowance seemed to love the step up in trip and is a horse on the up and could be a serious horse. A lot was talked about him after the ballysax but disappnted in the derby however the step up in trip beating Wicklow brave was a great step to this which will be a great trial for the legers!

    2.10 Newmarket - SYRIAN PEARL - 5/1

A spectacular race if not unique to watch with a pack full of greys all galloping down the July course but this guy back down to the mark he won this off last year and a 1lb lower than his last winning mark - this surely has been the plan since he won this stable in good form and I like him a lot

Simon Crisford has had a few winners of late and he has 3 going today. One I really fancy and the other 2 also fair possibilities.

1.50 Newbury - RED MIST. Frankel colt who won fto although ran green pretty much all that race. He was headed before getting back up on the line. Plenty more to come from this one and can see him winning again at 10/3.

2.30 Donny - DARK ROSE ANGEL. Only the one race too showing some promise. Seems a fair distance to go with the one horse. Currently 5/2.

3.55 Newmarket - SHREWD APPROACH. My ew selection who won lto too and has some form that is working out well and should have more improvement to come. Currently 9/1.

Buzzing for first home game of the season, hoping our new striker starts and gets among the goals. 1 bet today skybet special

Defoe to win (14:25 Newbury) & Jermain Defoe to score anytime (B'mouth v Watford) 13/2

A little off the beaten path here, but what the heck? I've just been going through the trot form of the G3 Grand Prix De La Ville De Nice to be run today. I couldn't help but think that the 30-1 offered by RaceBets about the chances of the 8 horse Ubu De Saint Marc at the time of posting is great value, especially if each way can be grabbed. 30-1. Surely the odds will be smashed by race time.

Surely MIKMAK will finally win again now that SDS takes over, 1 20 Newbury 9/1 is a huge price.

Big word going about for Cyrus Dallin the 5 40 @ HQ too 16/1, yard very confident but Haggas horse obvious danger so i've done e/w and the r/fc for cover

ERDOGAN (Frankel ex Dar Re Mi) makes his belated debut today in the 3yo Maiden at Newbury.

Two other Frankel colts contest the Denford Stakes (formerly the Washington Singer) at the same track - RED MIST and LEARN BY HEART. The latter had an entry in the Chesham at a Royal Ascot so they obviously think a bit of him and the former holds a Dewhurst entry. Both are impeccably bred with LEARN BY HEART out of Champion 2yo Memory and RED MIST from the family of Islington.

With the soft ground at the main flat meetings, today is a complete no bet.

The going at York is currently Good for next week’s Ebor meeting and they say that they have no plans to water, so which direction it goes is theoretically down to Mother Nature.

I note that Shutter Speed has been taken out of the Prix De La Nonette at Deauville today, so presumably they have decided to go to York for the big race on Day One, sponsored by the owner.

I also note that tomorrow’s Prix Jean Romanet features several fillies with Yorkshire Oaks entries, who have perhaps decided that an open-looking Group 1 by the seaside in France is going to yield bigger returns than taking on Enable, including likely favourite So Mi Dar from the same stable.

Shanghai Glory looks to have a decent chance in 3.15 at Ripon.A listed winner and nicely drawn if he avoids trouble in running he could be tough to beat.8/1 win.

2 bets on early doors today..
    Newmarket 2.10pm

Syrian Pearl 9/2 each way. Won the race last year off same mark and decent jockey booking.

    Newbury 3.35pm

Nathra 13/2 each way. Gets her ground today and John Gosden had a storming day yesterday. Horse is 3 from 3 at 7 furlongs and she got no such run last time out. Stable mate withdrawn from this race and I think she has an outstanding chance.
