Its been a tough 24 hours for the congregation of St Marys, what with Stu penning a new contract to remain Invincible and Patrick Roberts snubbing you to chase Champions League glory with Brendan and The Bhoys.

its only reasonable that some may not be taking it well and venting their anger on here.

 

£114m for Coutinho. Wow, what the hell is going on. He's good and all, but probably wouldn't make a matchday squad of the best players in the PL in my opinion.

Good luck to Celtic though. The only way there will be proper competition in Scotland again is if more money gets into that league through UCL success and improved coefficient

 

I often wish when watching a match that Saints had an improved coefficient.

The Express claiming that Liverpool nearly signed Virgil for 50 million...until Saints got annoyed. So they are saying Liverpool nearly signed him before Saints found out....how does that work exactly. Were they going to tell us when he ran out for them at the start of the new season. Also said that Pellegrino has asked for 70 million....our manager has very little involvement in deals. Stuff and nonsense.

 

It's very impressive to nearly sign a player without putting in an offer. That's basically magic.

 

Which just goes to proove that 99.99999999% of football journalism in the papers is speculative bollox.

 

I'd love to see us sign hoedt and have a cracking season with yoshi Stephens hoedt and the new bloke while VD trains alone and is fined heavily for refusing to play.

 

I'd love it more if he trained and wanted to play but couldn't get in the team!

It would appear he has lost his place in the Holland team although no doubt his injury played a part. However if the lad had played in the pre-season and proved his fitness, who knows he might have made the line up.
So in someways he has lost his place possibly because of his own actions.................

Vague, unlikely link of Juventus to VVD....but is that far enough away. I fancy the Middle East or China. Also repeats rumour that Liverpool would have signed Virgil for 50 million....only thwarted by us (his contracted club ) finding out. Details, details.

Shame they didn't include the Saints Number 17 in the list.

Also the Juventus link mentions if they fail for Garay first. How does that make sense? VVD will cost significantly more than Garay. That is not usually how back up options work
