I couldn't remember who I owed the £5 to. I did post on here asking the question. In fact I nearly gave it to Leeds of London. PM you address and your crisp new fiver will be in the post.
I don't bet if I can't afford to lose. Now I know who I owe as soon as I have a way to pay him he will be paid. Now fecking pipe down dwarf!
This offer means take it or leave it I'm afraid as the window closes soon. If Wood signs good, if not Lassoga comes in, if Wood hangs around Lassoga comes in, so Wood needs to **** or get off the pot. He' s already the highest earner and this deal will emphasise that.
Nothing happens to his transfer value, teams will lose interest thinking he's no longer available. Don't know And don't know.
According to Anderson from the Mirror Wood will not take the new contract until he finds out what Burnley are going to do, will they put a 3rd bid in? So for me we should bring in Lassoga and let him and Wood fight it out, or let Wood go as we dont need the hassle
The thing with fans is... they think like fans. Now with that earth shattering nugget of information out of the way... if you think like a player there's no way he wants to stay. He's coming into his prime, he wants the most money possible and to play in the premiership. If he stays he might break his leg or just have a carp season and the chance never comes again. The fact that Leeds might make the Prem next season and that Burnley are among the favourites for relegation is irrelevant... a bird in the hand etc. Whether he actually goes is down to whether the club choose to do a Taylor, (unlikely as they had the compensation fall back with Charlie), but this 'not motivated by money' stuff is wishful thinking in my opinion. It's always a major consideration. He's not a Leeds lad... The Leeds fans booed wood in his first year, he won't feel he owes us a thing and even if he did have a connection he'd still want to go, he'd be a fool not to. Whilst I hate to use the words 'mighty is right' this is PR preparation for sale. There's no doubt an element of bluff calling too... I'm sure the offer is genuine, but as others have said, allother contracts have been announced retrospectively this one has been put out for publicity purposes. The only hope is the contract offer has release triggers etc to get him to January or the end of the year, but I repeat he'd be an idiot to not go to the Prem. Even if he has pug sh*t between the ears his advisors will be making sure he makes them the most money.
Why would he want to go to Burnley? They're in the PL for now. But I doubt they'll be there in a year or two
Exactly what I was saying the other night. Height of popularity now, limited shelf life, he'll be getting told to cash in.
Why would he go to Burnley? Well how about a £15,000 per week pay rise which is £750,000 per year extra for a 3 yr deal. So he will earn £5.5m over the 3 years even if he gets relegated. He wont need to work again and thats playing for a fkg sunday league village team like Burnley. I just hope Billy's right because yes he is a good kid and his mum moved over to live with him & look after him, leaving his dad back at home. So a family decision
