No chance of getting Draxler.

He's a fantastic player on good wages and even though he may not have a PSG future, I doubt he'd swap their bench for ours. As good as he is, he's not better than Alli or Eriksen and arguably Son, too. Way too good and pricey for us to bring in as a likely squad player.

See, if he was affordable, those options in our attack are actually quite sparse, despite the 3 main options being full of quality. To have a 4th player allows for some rotation and keeps them on their toes.
Let's be honest, no other player in our squad in that are of the pitch has set the world alight.

Lamela will be back and he might.

I'm a huge fan of Lamela, but it's getting worrying how long he's been out for since we've had him, and how much longer he could be out for.
That's why I'm against Barkley right now. Good player, but injured and could be out for a while. We don't need that right now. We need strength in depth that can come in seamlessly.

Draxler won't join as a rotational option lol.

There are bigger clubs with bigger budgets who'd take Draxler in a heartbeat and have him in the XI immediately. Our AMs are some of the best in Europe, it's an area where the only way we realistically strengthen the depth is by finding a gem or an ageing player. There's no way Spurs could have Eriksen, Alli, Son, Draxler and Lamela on the books and keep all happy.

Ffs. Knew it was too good to be true.
Speaking of too good to be true, the position of Keita Balde to Juventus, I've read, is the same as Barkley to us. In his last year of his contract, the club is the player's preferred destination, but the club is deliberately playing hard to get to knock down the price.

The only differences are that Balde is top class and Barkley is an occasional glimmer of quality in an ocean of crap.

And that Balde is perfectly fit while Barkley is badly broken.

He seems to have already made up his mind and has it set on Juventus, from what I've read.
Not a lot that we can do, if that's the case.
Sounds like a bit of a pillock too, to be honest.

The usual Friday afternoon gubbins today: Moronho mouthing off about Sanchez, while the Wail are saying that we've hit a stalemate in Alderweireld's transfer negotiations.

Remember to act surprised when we see Lukaku firmly in Sanchez's pocket in October and January as well as when we see a photo on the club's Twitter in the next ten days where Toby has Poch's arm around his shoulder as he signs his new contract...

What did he say?
Funnily enough I didn't feel the need to give Football Insider the click when I saw the headline...

Meanwhile, here's Poch from today's press conference on the Alderweireld quote-unquote story

"They have contracts. They signed their contracts and they were so happy when they signed their contracts. He still has a three-year contract. I explain the situation but it’s another rumour in the media."
