lol yea, everytime the figure donga wants is close to being achieved, he stealthily ups the stakes that liverpool should get :D (not that donga is doing the negotiations himself)

Not. Based on 150m Euros. The figure oscillates according to the currency market.

I could see Klopp being the type of manager that once you've crossed him and challenged his tactics etc, then you're done, if you don't fully believe in what I'm doing, then you can **** off, type of attitude.

If the reports are to believed then Coutinho took a swipe at him in his transfer request, it's noticeable that Klopps tone about the situation appears to have changed somewhat since that point.

Bobby, I've stuck to the 150m Euro figure fro day one, but only then if Jurgen agrees to it. The only comment on any other figures bandied about that I've made is that we shouldn't accept, but if FSG cave-in they should at least ensure it's cash and not swapsies _ staggered payments. Just show me where I have deviated from that?

maybe i've got my wires crossed with other posts i'm pretty sure it was 120m, then 130m and now 135 (which i think saintklopp is also alluding too)

It was after and it was supposedly this 'family member' had told the Catalan press (hmm) that he'd 'Lost the confidence' of Klopp (should that be 'in' Klopp? - further evidence, in the shaky English, where that came from). I remember it well as you dived on it as the point at which he could never come back. I re-iterate that this is exactly what Suarez and his team did in 2013, saying he'd lost trust in Brendan because it was him who supposedly verbally promised him re the £40m release clause that never was.

Point is though, if Klopp wants rid I'm all for it. You back your manager 100%. I still want FSG to **** barca as hard as they can though, and I'd want Jurgen to confirm afterwards that it WAS his choice.

It's moved from £130m -£135m depending on currency. Again, the only thing I've said about £120m and all figures below is that, if we have to accept, it should be cash.

I've said this for a while now.
The Sakho situation shows that once you've crossed Klopp there's no going back. We don't know where the critical comments came from, but Coutinho hasn't made any effort to distance himself from them, so he can't be all that bothered.
I just wonder why FSG would not want to sell if that were the case, which is why I said it might just be on principle. No doubt it'll all come out in the wash at some stage.

Rodgers isn't Klopp so you can't compare the 2 scenarios, and no-one aside from those directly involved knows exactly what's been said / written, but his tone has noticeably changed.

His refusal to even countenance Sakho coming back into the fold is more relevant to this situation imo.

Imo, Klopp's belief is that a team is more than a collection of talented individuals, and that some players - gifted though they are - are expendable if they don't fit. It seems he won't tolerate anything that might upset the team spirit, or anyone who doesn't accept 100% that he is the boss.

Nothing wrong with that in the main, but sometimes personal pride and ego can get in the way.

I think that's been pretty obvious mate since his stance on Sakho.

Not sure I'd use the word 'tone' but the situation changed completely when the TR was handed in, up to that point it was all about Barce wanting our man. Once it was known Coutinho had put in the TR it's fairly obvious Klopp's position would change.

This is going to be a controversial point of view, but what the hell?
I didn't want to sell Coutinho at any price because I wanted to see him with the current front three. However, if Klopp has had enough, and we can't keep him - I really don't want to see this huge figure that everybody seems to see as the minimum requirement.
Even £90m is a ridiculous figure, and anyone who can't see that needs to take a step back and try to apply some perspective.
We can't be blinded by the absurdity of the Neymar transfer into thinking that is now the yardstick. Do any of us really want to see the transfer market scaled up to this level? Yeah, it would seem great for LFC in the short-term, but where will it lead? That amount comes in the through one door and it'll be straight out of the other. All our prospective "customers" will apply the same logic to us as we're applying to Barca, and in the end nobody will be getting any value for money.
The only people who actually benefit will be, as ever, the agents and facilitators. When clubs make a lot on transfer fees they have to spend it back in order to keep up. Agents' fees are just draining the money out of the game into private pockets.

Even if Barca buys Coutinho this summer there is still not going to be a quick fix for them. Real Madrid are in strong position to win Laliga
    again.

Sometime the club has to make a stand that they are not walk overs, not caring who gets hurt.
