An e mail from Charlton has arrived in my In Box, informing me that tomorrow's game is "Kids For A Quid".

A laudable initiative from the club, or an early sign of panic and an attempt to fill the empty Valley <whistle>

It certainly feels like it has come early this year, this gimmick is normally saved for a cold Saturday in February and a home game against Rochdale.

On the playing side, the main talking point will be about who if anyone starts up front for us.

Magennis is hobbling and out of form, paving the way for "The Geordie Messi", as nobody has ever called Lee Novak.

Kim Novak might be of more use.

We might just stick with 4-4-1, which worked ok last time.

What about Robinson goes attacking, and we play 4-6-0.

Does anyone think Aherne-Grant will make it as a striker with us ?

He's been badly handled. STraight from the U-18's to the first team without doing anything in the U-21's. He seems to lack the confidence needed to make it, which is a pity.

Northampton have lost both games so far, so is nailed on that they will get at least a point.

The away game last season was a cracker for the protests.

The protests at Northampton were indeed a cracker - starting with you being told off by Essex Al <laugh> and then the famous chant of 'here comes the Purple Knob' <laugh>

There we go, it's not all doom and gloom:emoticon-0148-yes:
I predict a 2-1 victory for the Addicks, probably Bauer and Holmes doing the honours.
Don't know where this optimism springs from...perhaps because it's Friday!

We could well win this one, and do well at home this season, but poorly away. Plenty of ability but not so much character.

Hayes are based not too far from where I am working these days, though I've never gone to see them. Did they drop the "and Yeading" from their name?

Clarke is sent off after 20 minutes. Northampton score from a penalty with 10 minutes to go. Robinson is out the door......!!
