For me we should sign Lassoga on laon with a view to buy if we get promoted, and Hamburg pay a chunk of his wages. We should play him as first choice simply because he has proved he can score at Prem level whereas Wood has done it once at Championship level. Just being realistic plu sth efact that no championship top scorerer has ever repeated the next season. If we accept £16m I think its great business but if Wood stays great because I think he would benefit from playing with a partner up top
I read where Wood wasn't happy with Leeds turning down the bids for him, also mentioned he told Leeds he wants to leave, having said that, not sure how reliable the articles are. Should the articles be correct, or very close, then Radz/TC need to work around it for the sake of the club and team. Personally, I think they should've took the money as it may not come around again.....
Hope yous lot behave. Last time yous came up here 2 years ago you attacked a pub full of old blokes an hour after the game had finished.
Rest assured Teessi, Our fans are very polite, timid, reserved, respectfull and swaying on the shy side...............................and that's just on fantasy football....
Must be something in all of this otherwise why does Lassoga appear out if the blue. A player who is very much another Wood, unless something been happening behind the scenes. 4 prem clubs listed last week with one now dropping out and going for a Frog. Ekuban will score goals and is mobile, Antinnson goes out on loan same week which means rwady for Lassoga. If money too good to resist Wood will go If wood stays and repeats last seasons goals he will be the real deal, and be worth £40m but Im afraid he will not do it, nobody has. Those that score are usually sold to Prem teams then die on the bench never getting a look in. Lambert, Rodriguez Hooper.....
Been to Roker a few times back in the day, my relatives live in East Boldon, used to have many a good summer over in those parts.
the "Wood is unhappy" story is a load of rubbish, he is working hard as ever and is committed to Leeds ... he's not another wide boy chasing dollars, he wants to build a solid career and at Leeds he knows he's at one of the biggest clubs in England ... any bid for him will have to be £20m plus to even be considered ... Radz wants to get Leeds to the Prem and he knows that with the way the squad has settled so quickly it could happen this season, but a goalscorer is a priority ... Wood is proven at this level, he is settled and happy at Leeds, and he is vital to the club's future ... get to the Prem and he will become a £40m striker for sure ... any rumours regarding Leeds are tripe, because we know how watertight the club is now Lasogga is a good player who will be quality in the Championship ... I watch a lot of HSV and I am surprised they are cutting him as a player, but not surprised he needs to go as a high wage earner ... HSV have struggled over the past few seasons, and last season escaped relegation on the final day in a nailbiter ... the club have almost mirrored Leeds, going from Champions to relegation battlers ... they are struggling to compete financially now, and it is clear they need to shift Lasogga's wage ... a difficult deal for Leeds to do, but another Championship club willing to stake his wage in full may well do it Sunderland have made a decent start, will be happy they're not struggling like Villa ... I watched their game against Derby as well as their Lge Cup tie, and they were pretty ordinary in both ... their play was slow and laboured, and they struggled to build momentum and create concerted pressure ... if Leeds fly like they can then I can see an away win here, and an early Leeds goal may well see the Mackems abandon their players again ... Grayson still hasn't got their defence sorted out, and luck isn't going to be enough to hang onto draws week in, week out in this unforgiving league the Prem has really lost the plot when you look at the ridiculous transfer fees being paid ... the latest joke is Man City bidding £18m for Jonny Evans at WBA ... seriously, Evans is not better than Pontus, yet Citeh seem to think there are 18 million reasons why they have to sign him ... the Prem has become an obscene league, and the spending is disgraceful ... the bubble will pop the day sponsor companies' shareholders start telling their CEOs and Marketing Directors to be more responsible with their money and to stop wasting millions on funding Prem players' stupid wages ... and yes, that day will come Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
We took 9000 when we played you in the league? cup a couple of years ago. You were big time Charlies in the prem and couldn't be arsed to turn up. Expect this to be your biggest gate this season unless you are nailed on for promotion in April/May. I owe smeg in the antibes a beer if he is still about!
I read the Wood is unhappy story this morning on a Leeds facebook page. They were quoting the daily mail I think who didnt quote any sources so make what you like of all that
For me the only way the Premier League can grow now is to bring in a new division Prem 2. Many of the teams in the Championship are bigger and better than half the teams in the Prem. I expect to that happen within a couple of years. The EFL are shyte and look who's in charge
There were over 29,000, higher than your average for last season.... Should be a good atmosphere our numbers will be up after good start and you've always brought thousands. Biggest fixture outside the Prem this, easily.
