Truly sorry to see him go from you guys....I hope that maybe you can bring back Bony and find some hidden gem from a European League to replace Gylfi in midfield. Your track record on uncovering quality is very good.I'm sure that a part of him is leaving with a bit of a heavy heart as he's always struck me as both a decent and intelligent bloke. Best of luck for the season.

A complete lack of forward planning and scouting.
'However, Sky Sports News has now claimed that, just a few hours after the Clarets were quoted £20m for Clucas, the Swans have stepped in with a view to signing a replacement for Gylfi Sigurdsson.'
    £10 million has become 20.
We were c£8 million to the good in summer dealings before Siggy left so NO INVESTMENT policy appears to be the way our majority shareholders.
Had he stayed we would still have needed to strengthen wide attack, midfield and right back.

But we will now be held to ransom and have to pay big money for average players, as you say, a £10m player now becomes £20m because other clubs know we have £50m to spend.

It's ludicrous they declared that we need to sell Gylfi to bring in new players. That alone, has increased each targets value by £5--£10m.

We should have had a deal in place with Everton, kept everything quiet for a day or two, announce in the press that a deal is way off, got our targets done and then announced that a fee had been agreed.

Then maybe we have to go abroad where there may be better value, 5-8 for Clucas and not a penny more. Hope we don't pay that much for him.

I'd go £25m for Viera and £20m for Ziyech. Job done.

I asked my German Bro-in-law (a football freak) to name a few decent German midfielders who'd thrive in the prem. After choking on his bratwurst he managed to cough out name after name of midfielders he feels are too good to play in the prem. I managed to catch these names and after checking out how to spell them wrote them down.

Ilkay Gundogan, Nuri Sahin, Christoph Kramer, Marc Stendera, Sven Bender (yep, that's his name). All under £20m.

I asked him about Mesut Özil and this time he choked on the sauerkraut. 'We don't rate him in Germany, he is a weakness' meaning Ozil is unreliable, he said 'he is so bad his own father tried to sue him'

Maybe PC should get on the phone to his contacts in Germany

How can you say that when in his press conference Clement said he was always planning for Siggy to go and had his targets in mind.

Didn't Sahin play for Liverpool? A loan I think? I remember people talking highly of him.
