    People always assume that odds are accurate....they only represent how people are betting. It may be correct, but it may just reflect a couple of large bets which set the alarm bells ringing. And it doesn't even have to be that big to swing it if it is an area where betting levels are low.

    I blame Harry Redknapp. He was 40/1 in the "next p*rtsmouth manager" market when it opened in 2005. Just before he was appointed, following rumours of him being seen entering William Hills in Sandbanks with a wheelbarrow full of used 20s, the price fell to 1/4 on.

    Zzzz this should be stickied or something. Basically a word for word recital of the other 1000 times somebody posts about this <laugh>

    Odds only really become telling when it's like 1/10 or 1/20 but even then it can emerge as being b*******. Market being suspended can sometimes mean it's about to be announced, but suspending betting on one team is strange as you can still get 10/3 for him to stay, 5/6 to Liverpool etc.

    Yeah they do it all the time. It's ridiculous that the biggest sports news outlet can also own a bookies when they can influence so many people over betting on transfers
