Adam Leitch @adamleitchsport·10m To confirm all loans to KL have been paid off as part of the deal so #saintsfc are more or less debt free Adam Leitch @adamleitchsport Markus Liebherr invested £15m. Katharina £54m. That's a profit of £141m plus a stake still worth more than £50m at this valuation #saintsfc
Mention has been made that Katharina is facing a large tax bill because her father claimed domicile in Switzerland but visited Germany too often....this may have played a part in her wanting to realise some cash.
Just another development in the soap opera SFC is. Time will tell if the viewing figures go up or down...
So his own personal family wealth, not through Lander Sports. Kat's loans have been paid off in full so we are effectively debt free. Looked better then it did a few months ago, so fingers crossed!
I agree we probably won't see much happening over and above what was planned. This isn't a cash injection just share's being sold so it could take a while for Ralph and the other Execs to work out which way the wind is blowing.
This could not have worked out better; given the limited options open to us; was it a family purchase - or Lander money - some of you are assuming that Chinese businessmen are employed by the company as in the UK - I suspect the reality it was probably mostly his in the first place. Do not think Kat would sell us out; too much of family history tied up in the club to simply walk away.
Here's the Guardian article, a good point that the structure is the same as when Markus took over personally and not in the MALI Group. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...l-80-stake-to-chinese-businessman-gao-jisheng
Agree FLT - the underlying position is that we now have more stability to build for the future. The previous ambition of competing with the top teams has taken a step closer.
That's the hope, but don't know if true yet though. May yet be a family wanting to show off to friends with their new toy or to make a few quid themselves. We may just carry on being Saints and doing what we've done the last few years.
Doubt the new toy idea; he's a successful businessman and unlikely to want to be associated with what others might perceive as mediocrity by his peers and colleagues back in China. Can all go wrong - but for the moment I prefer to believe that Kat has found a buyer he wants to build on her success.
Not intended to offend, just a play on his name rhyming with Mao. If anyone is offended I will remove it.
