You don't have to Josh, but he's still number 10 on the Leeds United all time league goal scorers, achieved in 4 1/2 seasons, and amongst the other Leeds Legends. He earned it....:emoticon-0148-yes:

I honestly don't care, he's not a Leeds legend. Even compared to Beckford. Becchio behaved like a **** when he left and had the ball control of a brick wall.

Might be just my age,but for me, there were no more "legends" after Wilkos team. Players mainly in it for the cash since that and dont deserve the title. It is a description that means different things to different fans. Im sure some would regard Noel Hunt as a legend

Get where you are coming from but we are talking apples and pears when talking about a player who never kicked a ball in the top flight or Europe for the club. How many goals would the true legends have scored if they had played all of their Leeds career in the second and third tier of football? No malice intended, just saying like :1980_boogie_down:

Maybe we could have graded legends. First second and third class ones depending on where they’d played, pl championship or wally division

Having time on my hands I have looked into this a bit (must admit, courtesy of Wiki <whistle>).

Lasogga and Wood were born 8 days apart so age is no factor.

Lasogga has scored 51 in 171 games, so just under one in three. Wood has scored 86 in 270, so also, just under one in three.

The majority of Lasogga's goals have come in the top flight of German football, the majority of Woods' have been in the Championship.

Lasogga has had a barren spell recently (if he hadn't I doubt we would have any chance of signing him). When we paid £3million for Wood he had scored 14 in his previous 61 games - hardly prolific and few saw him as a messiah then or even during his first season.

Lasogga was a regular for the German U21 team and was on the verge of a call up to the full team 3 years ago - this is not Kazakhstan we are talking.

Don't get me wrong, I am not championing the kid, I am just puzzled why we would be calling a new player a donkey when, almost certainly, none of us have ever seen him play? He may be but give him a chance to prove it!!

This may be a replacement for Wood and, as others have said, perhaps the disappointment of that is clouding the issue. If Leeds were in the Prem and wanted to keep him do you think he would even consider Burnley, Stoke etc? That is our perennial issue until we can get up. The reality is, someone may be willing to pay a figure no Championship side can turn down - that is life in the Championship I am afraid and am pleased we are taking players before he goes (if indeed he does).

As for a fox in the box, different conversation. We could have one to play alongside Wood or, dare I say Lasogga but, if we did, not sure that Saiz or Hernandez fit in without leaving us very light in midfield or sacrificing a wide player??

With respect, a most amusing close! <laugh><laugh><laugh>

And sadly, that's the bit that will remain with him. Incomprehensibly, he won't listen to the sheer logic & good sense in the rest of your post. He'll be sitting in his shrine to Antenucci, dressed in his Becchio strip & wig, watching his 5 second Adryan video on loop, & sticking pins into a wax figure of you. Then again, I can understand the last phrase <whistle> <laugh>

TBH, I think the main reason most have a downer on this guy is the possibility e may be a replacement for Wood, for better or worse. There's also the issue of his wages, reported as being £60k pw. Yes, his club will pay a chunk of that, but we may find ourselves in the situation that the part we pay him is actually bigger than what we pay Wood. This is a realistic concern, for not only is it perceived (rightly, IMO) unfair on Wood (why has he not been offered an improved contract?), but it may well impact the team harmony, with every single player instructing his agent to get him a better deal in line with the new guy. Speculation? Yes, but we all know there's a very realistic possibility of it coming to pass. Hope not.

I would be amazed if Wood hasn't had the offer of a new contract if he wants it and, yes, he deserves to be our highest earner. is that enough to get him to sign? We just don't know.
