**** him, beaten by the Brits! Shame for Bolt though. Seriously, if he shouldn't have been banned it should have been overturned on appeal. But it wasn't.
Wow!! Third fastest time of all time. Brilliant Great Britain!!! Mixed feelings seeing Bolt do his hammy in his last race, although I'm not sure he would have caught the first two.
The panel silenced by the sight of Bolt yelling '****!' as his hammy went. A real shame, but no blemish on a stunning career. Same for Mo.
The GB four almost ran the perfect race there. So fast and near perfect hand-overs. Go GB!! Bolt and Mo...............both legends. Thanks for the memories.
Had to have my dog put down tonight, the poor old bugger. Great win by the men's 4 x 100 team, but sad to see Bolt go out like that.
He was only 9, but that's pretty old for a Newfoundland. His back legs just stopped working. Pretty distressing.
Sorry to hear that mate. I remember seeing Bob Malcolm's legs stop working at home to Sheffield Wednesday circa 2008.
Big dogs aren't particularly long lived I'm told, and yours was a hippo if that QPR collar fitted him. Right decision though if he was suffering. Big hole in the home now though. Our next door neighbour has 15 year old spaniel called Figo (owner is Portuguese) who is blind and has dementia, spends a lot of time turning in circles and walking into walls. Vet says he's quite happy and not suffering, but I can't stand seeing him now.
Yeah, it's ****. Lots of tears tonight, and my wife saying she'll never get another dog. She will though.
****, sorry to hear that Strolls - this is one of the reasons I could never bring myself to have a dog - we got upset when our goldfish died!! RIP your dog
Commiserations Stroller. It's always sad when you lose a furry friend that's a part of the family. I'm sure that he/she had a great life and hope that you can garner solace in knowing that you granted them that. Losing an animal is never easy.
Sorry to hear that Strolls. Pets are part of the family with unique personalities. I preferred my old cat Bruno to many of my blood relatives.
Strolls, please accept my condolences. Losing a cherished pet can be as painful as the loss of any other loved one. The picture of the dog in my avatar is actually our family mutt of whom I am very fond. You steel yourself for this day almost from the very moment you take delivery of the puppy, but it is no less easy to say goodbye when that time comes. Replacement could be seen as a fine way of honouring your Newfoundland and easing the pain of loss. Sorry to hear your news.
Sorry to hear your loss Stoller. Many of us have been there, and it is a deeply saddening moment when you have to make that decision to let them go peacefully. You will have many memories, and many amazing memories of seeing your Newfoundland grow from a puppy, sharing your thoughts, and lots of laughs along th way... and I'm sure he/she loved all of your family back many times over.
Thanks for your kind messages, lads. The house seems empty this morning, even though it's anything but. I've reverted to my old avatar in the old boy's honour
Just watching the boys getting their 4x100m relay gold medals. Did you see the girl's team watching them win? Magical!!
